I have few problem:
1) After the key guard for screen on, if the alarm reminder alert, i can't un-lock the key guard and can't press the alarm to stop/snooze". Have to wait till the alarm stop itself, then only can un-lock the screen and go to remove the alarm.
2) Some of application icon just dissapear from the folder. I check the installed software, it still shown status:installed. Happen to "Amazon" & "Accuweather". If I map a shortcut on Home screen, it still works, means the application still installed. It just missing from inside menu folder. Any idea to bring back the icon, as I don't have source. It pre-installed.
3) When connect to USB cable, it can't charge the phone (my previous N85 which can)? Hope the next firmware able to make it work. I saw Nokia selling 50mm - USB charger cable. Look like this model no way to use pure USB port to charge the phone.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Regarding the alarm, you do not need to press the screen.
Just slide your finger over the screen in the direction the Stop/ Snooze bars are indicating.
It will do the desired effect.

THIS ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED.![]()
Got new Nokia X6 16Gb yesterday. When the alarm sounds or an appointment alerts this can not be stopped. Even though the device is not locked you have to slide the slide lock down twice before the screen will respond again. I must highlight taht the auto lock is off and the device was not locked at the time. This is a major problem especially as the lock key is microscopically small and unreachable through the Nokia X6 leather case.
I've done a full reset back to original config with *#7780# and *#7370# and this issue still is there. Looks like a firmware or hardware problem. No firmware updates available: currently on
V 12.0.091

hamishmc, When the alarm sound or an appointment alerts, the faster way is use your finger to swipe at below part of screen from left side to right side. This is the only solution at the moment (instead of unlock phone to press stop which is doesn't work currently)

You can always turn the phone over, e.g. if it's face up turn it over so that the phone is face down and that will silence the alarm on the snooze function.

To Hamishmc - I believe the issue with turning the alarm off when the keyguard is locked is solved, at least it was for me thanks to an earlier answer. When the alarm goes off you don't need to touch the keyguard lock you just slide your finger across the screen in the direction of either the "stop" or "snooze" arrow.
Thanks so much to the person who anwered this earlier. I can't believe that something that should be so obvious actually isn't that obvious - at least not for me!

AToo bad I did not read this earlier. I had a similar problem with answering the phone by touch, and the calendar remimders. I tried many times to touch the button, and even got the mini-vibe feedback from the touch, but it never did anything. Now I see that they all have arrow pointers on one end, and that is the direction you swipe.
Makes no sense why Nokia would make that function so totally different that everything else, for something as common as answering the phone!

My X6 16GB have some 'issues' with WH701 headset (came in the box) - I can't control ffwd, rwd, pause/stop, answering calls or volume control. Same headset works fine on otjer phones.
Any ideas anyone?

Is this SW issue, because same HS works on other Nokia phones, or it's only me that have this sittuation?

I have an X6 16GB and the headset works fine. However, I have found that if you do not push the headset all the way into the jack on the phone the headset will not work properly. Push the connector on the headset all the way into the jack on the phone until you hear a "click" and the headset symbol appears in the top right corner of the screen. The headset should then work fine. I have software version 20.0.005.C03.01. Hope this helps.

:-))))))))))
Thank u!

Thanks, this does it (just don't slide with to light pressure). I can't believe this information is not in the handbook!!! (It isn't, I have looked for it many times.)

My lock/slider switch as fell off, i have to use a pin to lock and unlock the phone which is a pain, therefore I tend not to lock the phone anymore, however it is annoying as it rings people in my contacts bar on my home screen quite often. Anyone know where I can get a new lock switch?

You will need to either take it back to where you bought it from so that they can send it off for repair or take it to a Nokia Care Point if there is one close to you. To find your nearest Care Point go to your local Nokia web site.
