it thought it was repeating the 30th again, so I will add it to my list of dates of the days this happened on that I have listing since the start of November. Maybe the X6 phone will like 2011 better and decide to work! Anyone else had the same dates?NOKIA..... Please get this sorted, as any text that arrive before I can alter the date back to the correct date, get dated the wrong date when they arrive as they take the date from the phone.

Well I finally got the Software update V 30.0.003 custom version 249.09.
I have disabled Free Time Box for now to see if the new software makes any difference.
The only things I have noticed in the first two days are that on switching on the first time, the photo I have on my home screen turned sideways for a few seconds....
and when the phone switches on now, the time appears, the word General changes to the date (as before) but now the time disappears again, "General" replaces the date, then the time and date reappear. So there seems to be an extra "boot" to the date and time ??

I have only noticed that once, where the screen goes sideways.
But 2011 is no better for the date as it wanted to stay as the 1st Jan 2011 on the 2nd so another date to add to the list

I have now been a week without a problem. Too early to be sure yet of course.
Are those still having problems actually using V 30.0.003 custom version 249.09. The custom version seems relevant.

Still have the previous version, as when doing the software update check, it is not available for my phone yet apparently.

so far this month

I am about 11 days now without a problem, that must be a record.
It looks like V 30.0.003 custom version 249.09 may be the cure - pity Nokia can't be bothered explaining what was done.

Hooray! At last my phone has an update for it, installing it now, lets just hope it cures the problem, well it loaded it, and restarted with the right date so far so good... it must be to do with the date as the main time, has been flashing on and off as it was doing the update, the version installed is now V30.0.003 custom version 30.0.003.233.06 custom version date 10-12-2010...... now just to wait and see it it has fixed it

Around 16 days after installing V 30.0.003 custom version 249.09 - IT HAS FAILED.
No nokia tune this morning, watched phone going through "double boot" making date and time refesh, but still yesterday. Very disappointed yet again.

Hi guys
I updated to Ver. 30.0.003 -- 277.02 and all was well... for a week or so.
Now it doubble-boots, and fails date-wise even more often than before..
I think I'll go HTC, this is not acceptable.
Best regards,

Hi,
I have updated my X6 on 16-1-2011 and today the 26-1-2011 the date was 25-1-2011.
So indeed the update does not solve the problem.
If this continues like this, it will be my last Nokia ever.

There is no auxiliary battery in this phone. Confirmed by a Nokia employee in this thread.

Mine has been failing more often recently - at least 2 or 3 times a week, and sometimes has gone back 2 days. I thought it had gone back 3 days on 14th Jan, but it had actually gone back over a year, to 11th Jan 2010 ! That was the final straw - I've bought a HTC Desire HD, and it's awesome. Shame on you Nokia - another loyal customer lost.

Hi all,
Small update - investigations still ongoing regarding this date issue so, unfortunately fix won't be ready for next sw update which should be out already this week.

Thanks for that update. Bit strange that Orange had a meeting with Nokia last week and Nokia insisted that the problem was solved and tried to put the blame on me for not downloading updates. Which was soon proved to be a total lie.
Sorry Nokia have lost another customer for life. If they can let a simple problem go on for what... 8 months now ?... then I would hate to see their response to a major problem.
It isn't the fault itself... it's the time I have wasted trying many different things, and the total lack of regard from Nokia. Wish I had just rejected the phone now.

@syorkshire55 - sorry to hear but totally understand your point. Not knowing the details cannot say why the fix is not here but I would assume it's not that simple thing. But form what I've heard lots of things are in the works to get this solved - hopefully very soon.

Thanks ThreeOs. We can but hope !
It would help if the Nokia people responsible were just honest and communicated more about the problem and what is being done.

and...... 21 days later..... instead of changing to the 2nd of Feb, it reverted to the 1st again.... is Nokia just waiting till we all get our phones upgraded by our phone contract to solve the problem?
