Web usage?

Hiya,

This is my 1st Nokia, & 1st contract with inclusive internet time.

I only get 500mg included with my contract, Where on my X6 can I keep track of this?

I will only really be using the phone to tweet & check twitter but have no idea whether this 500mg will be enough to cover this.

Any help, much appreciated

Cheers

Re: Web usage?

Jimmyireland why can't you answer the question?

The correct answer is: Go to Menu>log>data Counter and you will see how much data has been sent and received.

Instead of waffling on why not just give the correct answer?

And if you want to check any particular event, like how much you used yesterday 3:00 PM, you can switch to Detailed log, which is accessible Menu>log>you'll see a two arrow little icon under mini clock, click that, here you'll find all your communication history for last 30 Days.

There's also a little app called "Data Quota" which Shows how much of your packet data quota you've used so far this month http://www.plunder.com/DataQuota-1-30-rar-download-5b14dd1529.htm

Re: Web usage?

I have downloaded the dataquota. The problem is when I transfer it to the phone, the computer tells me file transfered, then says file error, transfer failed any ideas what the problem may be?

Cheers

Sorry, I have read the manual several times, this is my first Nokia in about 10 years & find the manual close to useless & the help pages on the web site worse. These discussions are the best help I have found!

Re: Web usage?

this wont work the best thing to do as suggested in another thread by carman if i remember correctly is to take a screen shot of the data reading from screen,it will be there in your data log always ,you can set the data log to 30 days,also dont forget every month to clear the log to keep an eye on it

Re: Web usage?

@jimmy.

Why this is not going to work? I m using it personally, it works lot better than manually counting the data transffered.

@seoras:
Did you extracted the Sis file from rar archieve?
the file you download from above link is in rar compressed, you need to use winrar to unzip it, then copy sis file to phone, install.

Re: Web usage?

@seoras:

What "new update" are you trying to move to phone?
You mean you are trying to Update your firmware?

As far as above application is concerned, you don't need Ovi suite to transfer DataQuota to your phone, extract (Sis) file, connect phone via USB, select "Mass Storage" on phone when prompts, so it'll behave just like a normal USB hard drive, Copy dataquota (Or any app you want) to one of the folders on mass memory, like "Others" , Disconnect phone, Open File Manager>mass memory>navigate to folder where you copied above file (f.ex: Others)>find dataqouta.sis>options>open.

Re: Web usage?

Perfect! Will give that a go.

This is all completely new to me so yep I need it spelled out in a step by step guide, guess thats why I struggled with the manual, it expects a prior knowledge.

Yep trying to install 21.0.041 currently on 12.0.091 still no luck with that either!

Re: Web usage?

For update:

Make sure Windows is updated, Close Any Antivirus, Anti Spyware programs prior to update, turn off Firewall also, Charge your phone's battery to full, Download and install "Nokia Software Updater", http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update#
Run Nokia Software Updater, and when it tells you to connect your phone, connect it in PC Suite mode, check for updates, if available click "Update" to install. follow on-screen instructions. (Also make sure your internet connection is reliable and fast enough)

Good Luck.
