Hello drodil and welcome to the Nokia discussion forum.
In answer to your questions....
1 You can post your bugs here on the user-to-user discussions forum. Nokia may look at these boards but don't count on it. However, someone else may have the same problem and a solution for you. If you wish to give feedback to Nokia, use the 'contact us' part of their website to submit feedback.
2 The X6, as far as I know, doesn't have multitouch. We don't know if it will receive it in the future.
3 No idea but i doubt you will if multitouch isn't part of the core OS on the device.
4 I don't own an X6 but on reading the in-depth reviews of the device on __________, I see that the editors there found lots of bugs that, if users give feedback to Nokia, should hopefully be ironed out in subsequent firmware updates.
Hope this helps

Got new Nokia X6 16Gb yesterday. When the alarm sounds or an appointment alerts this can not be stopped. Even though the device is not locked you have to slide the slide lock down twice before the screen will respond again. I must highlight taht the auto lock is off and the device was not locked at the time. This is a major problem especially as the lock key is microscopically small and unreachable through the Nokia X6 leather case.
I've done a full reset back to original config with *#7780# and *#7370# and this issue still is there. Looks like a firmware or hardware problem. No firmware updates available: currently on
V 12.0.091

There is no animated arrow. When the alarm clock goes off you just get a grey box with clock alarm: stop and snooze buttons. You press the buttons and they dont work. You have to slide the hardware slider lock down to enable the screen and then and only then the stop button on screen works. The phone was not locked at the time.

Appointments alerts and Alarm alerts do the same thing. Lock the phone up when it isnt locked so you cant ok or clear them without using the unlock slider 1-3 times.

I've now resolved the problem myself.
It was the official nokia X6 case .
Nokia X6 Leather Case - CP-389
This is the only case that you can get for this phone that fits it snuggly.
The downside is that it stops the phones screen from working properly.
When i removed the phone from this case i dont have the requirement to cycle the slider lock.
DO NOT BUY this case if you dont want issues. I wasted several hours last night trying to resolve this.

If it seems to be an isolated bug (since your the first and only one to report it for now), why dont you try reinstalling the firmware? Even if it is brand new, I cant rule out a factory error in firmware installation.

Generally most cases are made assuming that you are going to lock the phone with the slider before you place them in the case.
In this instance the phones proximity sensor was doing it's job by preventing the screen from being used whilst the sensor was blocked (covered by the case).
The phone will behave the same way in any case that covers the sensor if you leave it unlocked.
The phone works best when you set the autolock period and screen timeout to the same value. That way you always know the screen is off and locked and only requires the slide switch to be used once each time.

Hi, I got my X6 32GB not a week ago and I have to say I am not very pleased with it...
I've been buying Nokia exclusively for the past 12 years and I've always been happy with them but the X6... hmmmm.
First of all I have the same problem with it responding when the alarm clock goes off...
Then I've had problems with it responding in general. It sometimes will takes several "touches" for a button to be pressed... and what's with the lack of a pen on this phone!?
I was much happier with my 5800 Navigator.
Sometimes it is very slow to respond however I am happy with the browser and the connection is actually a rather decent speed.
I like the navigator and it works fine...
Now my biggest concern just arose yesterday.
Last night I took the phone *in its leather case* out of my bag and placed it on the desk which is probably thigh high not higher.
I accidentally knocked it off (remeber the phone is in a leather case!) so it fell maybe 2 feet?
Well the whole thing came apart!!
When I took it off the case, the back cover fell in my hands and the *sides* of the phone had come apart (but hadn't fallen off yet). As a result when I clicked them back on, the unlock key was dead.
Since I am somewhat familiar with electronics I was able to fix it and it seems fine now, but I am now very reserved about this phone and how fragile it is!!!!
I had dropped my 5800 on numerous occassions, my 4 year olds even had played with it, without a single incident.
It was very sturdy... this however, I am not sure about the X6. I feel like I need to tip toe around it and it's not a cheap phone. I would have expected better quality from Nokia...
I dread to think what the damage would be if the phone wasn't in a leather case and had dropped to the floor unprotected.
*shudders*
For all it's super technology, it sure is a flimsy phone!!!

How can I get the ALPHA keys (2=ABC, 3=DEF, etc) when using the phone dialler. It only shows the numbers. This is required for entering password etc. on some call systems?

Have you guys tried using the X6 search function? Mine does not search thru messages, e-mail & calendar. I triple checked the options> settings> search services> my content configuration> all items marked. But it searches contacts (people?), web, places only.
And also can anyone here tell me how can I adjust the font size while composing a message or adding a contact in the To: box? I have tried Menu> settings> phone> display> font size> normal to small, but no avail.
Lastly, the check button above left when composing a message or tapping * button and it shows special characters, is a bit stubborn and I have to tap it harder just to exit it.
PS. My usb cover keeps popping out of its place, kinda annoying keeping it tucked in its slot.

i dont know if this is the right place to put this but, yesterday, i experienced a problem with my X6, and had to restore factory settings on the phone, which kinda corrected the issue, however, since i have done that, i have lost the preloaded games on my phone.
does anyone know how i can get them back?
i tried reinstalling the most recent software update from NSU but, the games did not come back...
can anyone help??

Did you find out how to get the alpha keys on the dialler? If so can you tell me how. Not having them is a real problem.
20-Mar-2010 12:46 PM
@kingwhite and broomie. AFAIK there is an app that adds the letters to the dialler. However as the app is not available in my country, I cant remember the name. Its only available in countries where vanity dialling is a norm. Its not in my country so having no letters on the dial pad is no problem.

Yes my USB cover keeps popping open too!
It is driving me mad.

Orange customer services told me last week that a 'fix' was on its way. I guess we just wait and see!
