Hey guys the much awaited firmware has been launched..though I would would be updated my phone tonite....anyone has more info on the new changes/updates?

 poor us I think nokia has taken off the firmware...i tried it tonite and it shows v 20 as up to date!!

Just updated to firmware Version:  21.0.025. from version 11

Cant see much change to be honest and no speed improvements that i can tell of

The light now blinks for missed calls which is a bit pointless if you ask me.

Ill keep you informed if i find anything interesting.

AFAIK v21 is currently only available for Finland and Hong Kong product codes. Others may have to be a bit patient. Some changes I noticied in v21 (from v20)

• SMS envelope icon now correctly displays read SMSs with a opened envelop icon
• Faster UI
• Faster Web browsing and less crashing of browser. (Browser is yet to crash with new fw, whereas it used to crash often with previous fw specially when brwsing flash enabled sites)
• Notification light blinks about every 15 seconds compared to about every minute with previous versions when there are missed events
• Time period to display notification light is now configurable in options (i.e. you ca set notification light to blink for 1 hour after event is missed)
• Breathing light in Standby mode

As far as I can see, V21.0.25 for RM-356 is available now for the Kong Kong models, some Finnish models and the Red V2 on Wind Italy.

The Chinese RM-427 (the 2G version with no WLAN, black and red) have V21.0.25.1.

The NAM version RM-428 (black only) is still on V20.2.14.

My Nokia 5800 has a weird problem. I dont know if its firmware problem or hardware I'm still waiting for new firmware to confirm. Right now its v. 20. The problem is every night when the phone goes to standby and next day morning i wake up people who tried calling me will get a message that my phone is out of range even if i wake my phone from standby mode and see my signal is full I wont recieve any call unless I make any sort of call or sms then i'll all of a sudden recieve all the sms (miss call notification and other smss) in one go. Maybe it could be my sim card problem. Really dont know.

Yes it seems like a problem with your sim-card. You should try another one. And I think it will be helpfull if You describe the problem in another and new thread, because here are only discussions about the new fw.

i have 2 5800 (red version) 1: 0575654 and 2: 0576049 and i have version 10.0.010.. i can`t update any version ... not 11.. not 20.. not 21 ... why? x(

Your phones are both branded phones. One by Bouygues Telecom and one by SFR.

You could take the phones back and ask Vodafone to supply you with phones made for the Romanian market at least! Bouygues Telecom and SFR are both French operators, although SFR is part owned by Vodafone.

I confirm the new update is available via FOTA in Bulgaria, I just updated to v21.0.025 with product code 0559276

Mine's only 2.7mb download. worth it. it got the breathing light now
