firstly I never updated my mobile ( n95 8 giga ) 

when I want to update it by NSU it first downloaded the software and when it begin to install it in my mobile it give me this msg also i am sure that i connect my phone to the pc right so please what can i do ? 

 msg says

"  ( software update failed )      for optimum connectivity , your usb cable should be connected directly to your pc , and not via a USB hub , USB keyboard or labtop docking station "  

and i connect my phone directly to my pc  please helppp .....

Is your cable an original NOKIA Cable? And does your PC meet the requirements mentioned on the site which are needed in order for Nokia Software Updater to run properly.

Hi,

it is a bug of latest NSU, try to perform update on other computer if you can. Sometimes configuration of windows doesn't works with NSU and NSU demand for direct USB connection even if cable is connected this way.

Before you upgrade, make a memory backup on phone and by Nokia Content Copier and check the end report!!!

yes my cable is an original nokia  and my pc meet the requirments

i performed the update in another computer (labtop) but the same msg appear 

i made before a backup

It is strange, is the 1.4.85 version of NSU ?

To check what is wrong, I suggest uninstall all Nokia applications from Control Panel, every drivers, PC conectivity solutions and after this system registry cleaning. System reboot and reinstall all applications starting from Nokia PCSuite, NSU, Nokia Maps and the rest if you want.

If it doesn't help, you can:

find someone with who has proper working NSU,

wait for next NSU version

or go to the Nokia Care Point, if phone has warranty, they should do this for free.

I have exactly the same wit two different computers : one laptop under vista sp1 and one desktop computer with XP SP3. Same problem. I have sent logs files to Nokia France (see /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&thread.id=45144) and they answer today with the same advice : reinstall everything with full clean.

It doesn't work for me but for those who want to try here the link to nokia tool that clean everything :

I am so disapointed with this NSU tool. (1.4.85_fr)!!! but the good point is that my N82 is not bricked (removing battery is ok).
