hey there. i just want t oask how to re-install the same firmware again onto my nokia 5800. previously NSU gave me an option (button at lower right) to do it if no update exist. but now i am not able to do this with 5800. i dont know if its problem with NSU or re-formatting is not supported in 5800.it oly provides me with a "try again" button.

i have to do it because the nokia service center guys installed the v11 blue firmware on my red phone.those losers said they dont have the firmware for red. they told me to do it on my own from NSU!!!!!!!!!! now i am not able to restore "settings" part from any of my backups. if i restore that part, my phones connectivity to any net, be it gprs, or Wlan is effect as i cant connect to anything. also in the settings section of backup thr licence of the music files are stored so i have to DRm lience to them now.

please help me

There is no way to force a reinstall.  Even if you could it would just reinstall the blue firmware.

For it to end up with blue means that your phone has either been modified (voiding it's warranty) or the care centre made a major mistake.

You should go back there, ask to speak to the manager and demand that it's put right. They may even be able to put the newer v20 firmware on for you.

i got the red firmare from nokiacare.

but my question remains, still i am not able to get a reinstall option in NSU. I only get the option shown in my previous post above and not  the one shown belowplz ignore version no. as in India only v11.00.08 is available)

My phone is standalone and not tied with any operator.

I know this problem was 1 year back. But, i'm facing same problem now. I can't find the "Reinstall" button only "Try Again" is available.

when you connect your device to your computer, select PC Suit.then open Nokia OVI Suit>click HOME>at bottom left corner click CONNECT DEVICE> after connecting your device Click on tools and then SOFTWARE UPDATES.....below NOKIA suit a new TAb showing your device's name will appear.it'll show any available software update.even if u already have the latest versios..it will show an option to re-install your software...i judt did ! hope it'll help
