I have a Nokia 5800 product code 0579934 Version:  21.0.025 UK Blue bought from Nokia online store.

It is frustrating checking each day to see if the OS upgrade has been released.  I check in Ovi Suite 2.0 Tools/Software Updates and OTA with *#0000#

If the reason for phased release by product code is to reduce the load on Nokia servers then this long delay is not helping either of us.  I have checked a couple of times a day on most days for about 6 weeks since the rumours on blogs first mentioned an update OS was due to be released.  That must be a lot of network traffic. Surely there is a better way.  

What about Twittering the availability of update OS for model for product code ?

And how do you feel now more than 6 months after and that you're STILL on V21 when it seems almost every other version is on V40 and enjoying the free navigation and guides that recently got announced........

Personally, I'm one very unhappy customer.  My phone was bought from the Nokia online store and is unbranded.

Terrible, abysmal and a complete let down.  Just waiting for any excuse to go and buy a new NON-Nokia phone.

One more loyal customer leaves the fold.

NOKIA 5800 V40 BUGS

there are alot of bugs in v40 and its is discover by the ppl like you. I Have MY nokia 5800-d1 with the RM-356 type having SWV:21.0.0.25.

I am happy with it as i dont want to loose my data and time. It cost me alot

THE PRIOR KNOWN BUGS IN V40 UPDATE

1. NO RDS IN Radio Option (It was there in previous all version till V30&31) 
2. Radio application can't be exited in the end
3. some application icons are multiplied like in previous firmware version 
4. Thumbs of contacts on HS are loading too long
5. listing files in Settings/App mgr/Installation files takes way too long too
6. The screen won't turn off when you plugged the power. Same that it won't turn off after you unplugged from power.
7. Applications cannot be uninstalled. It says "Unable to start the installer" or something like that the radio application could not be quitted
8. The new SW update doesn't allow me to install updates. It just says fail...
9. Most of the time, the music player cant be closed and the song will show right on the home screen.  my screen backlight also not go off when plug in or unplug the charger
10. Normally, when your 5800 full charged, it will beep and turn on the screen for couple of seconds. Now it won't turn off once this was triggered.
11. In Messaging, message won't open on tapping ! The message seems selected, and doesn't respond to tapping(single or double) ... then options for message also doesn't open, only option is to exit messaging
12. Frequently it happens I must remove SD before I can install/remove programs
13. video player bugs (many video played improperly, sound played without images. or freeze at some point, but the sound continues
14. Unable to install Opera Mini from Ovi Store and from Opera.com website download

Nokia has any plans for fixing this ?  Its very frustrating to have this bug where you can't even open a simple SMS or email after having firwmware update.

I also have nokia 5800 blue 0579934 code and i still haven't got latest software stuck on v21.

I have left emails but nokia can't even bother to reply.

My company have about 20 nokia phones and if they carry on the way there going there is no way IM gonna stay with them.
