Re: n95 changing date

Try to turn off "Auto-update" from menu > Tools > Settings > General > Date and time > Network operator time

If it is turned on, that is.

Re: n95 changing date

Did you already check if your problem is related to the "workingday-alert-bug"?

Read more about it here or here.

Re: n95 changing date

The above (message #5) linked problem obviously occurs under special circumstances:
- the phone is switched off
- alarm is set with option "workingday" (monday until friday)

I'm nearly sure: one saturday morning, when switching on the phone, I first saw the right date and then - after a short flicker of the screen - occured the date from the day before.

This showed up even with FW 200.x.x (this was on the bought phone), after a reset to factory defaults and also with my actual FW 220.34.37

Re: n95 changing date

Is this date issue just on certain 'unlucky' models or the whole N95-1 production?

I'm using the latest FW and not experiencing this issus even I try to simulate with all the probable settings for last 4 days.

Re: n95 changing date

@highrespectable

I'm not sure if we are in sync.

The (in message #5) mentioned problem does not occur on:
- every-day-alarms
- phones that are left switched on overnight

Re: n95 changing date

(please keep in mind: here we don't get responses from NOKIA-developers until now - so we have to guess a little bit ;o) )

This misbehaviour (date not advancing or sticky on weekends) occurs on several different phone types and firmware releases.

Common seems to be: it is only occuring
- on weekends
- with working-day-alarms
- on S60 phones
- that are switched off overnight.
The reset of the date happens only one time each on weekends when the phone is switched on again - if you manually adjust the date on saturday and switch off the phone it will remain showing the right date the next time you switch it on again on saturday. Probably it is a flag that ist set only one time before saturday and then again before sunday.

It looks like a FW-bug.

A workaround seems to be: using everyday alarms and manual switching them off during weekends - annoying but working for me.

Re: n95 changing date

Hi.

I have alarm on my phone that goes on every work day at 05:20.

Week 4 it worked great mon, tue and wed. On friday evening i ask my girlfriend if the alarm did go on today(fri) and yeasterday(thu), she couldnt remember. Saturday morning the alarm goes on 05:20 i woked up turned it off and turned on coffee mashine.

Hmm, what the hell its saturday?! So i thought that i somehow changed the date and time to some other day and changed it back.

Week 5, mon, tue, wed the alarm goes on as it should. Thursday 29 january, time 05:35 i asked if she heard the alarm today? No she said. I went into my calendar and what did i see, the date is set to 31 january 2009!!! but today its 29 january 2009.

I can bet that in 2 days on saturday the calendar is gonna change back to 29 january 2009 and the alarm is gonna wake me up on saturday morning.

Re: n95 changing date

Now i tested something new, i deleted all alarms, made 5 new, one for each day, set the clock to 05:20 every week.

Today friday morning the alarm did go on at 05:20 great :smileyhappy:

30 min later the alarm goes on again !?

To my surprise the date changed itself to 2009-02-02, its tuesday!!!

I have never had this problem on this phone, before i upgraded to the newest fw and bought my N95 a year ago.
