Im new here, and if I wasnt supposed to open a new topic for something like this my apologies

So, I just got my N97 and I updated it to v11. Everything went well and after the update I put my files from back up back on the phone and yadi yada yada after that it said that the phone will be restarted. And it was. But when it got back on it restarted two more times by itself but it wasnt a normal restart. It was like, you know when some monitor brakes down or something and the picture dissappears in that scary (for the owner ) fashion, like its dead. I know, its a bad description but its the best I can give.

After the third restart I didnt wait for the home screen to refresh and all that when it turns on. I immediatly press the menu button, went to see pictures and stuff, just to keep the phone busy And it didnt 'die', as I call it

So, if u thought that there is no question in there...that makes two of us

Did anyone else had that kind of problem and shouldI be worried?

the only thing i suggest you do is copy all your files ect to your computer then and you contacts to your sim ect and dont backup anything just do a hard reset and then copy the files back accross that way anything that was corrupted from the previous firmware is gone and t will start a fresh let me know if it works cheers mongo

well, I couldnt say if it worked cause nothing was corrupted. After those couple shut downs everything works fine, there are no problems.

Well if there is no more problems just use it and wait for newer software :0) I didn't have problem like yours but i had similar to it. Phone got freezed on boot-up with nokia logo.. that was a tough one)) I spent 2 hours to "wake it up" )) pulling the battery out and in.. then just "refreshed" the phone. I still like the n97 but software totally sucks. I wish it'll be stable with new update and also some day, they make firmware based on Flash technology like the iphone has, so it's gonna be nice and smooth))))) I love Nokia!)

well, the phone works fine for me so far, besides this glitch. My only problem so far aint related to the phone, its more related to me being bad at converting videos lol

get the Total video converter v.3.12.080330. 

Drag your video tho the program. Set up MP4 - MPEG4 on the icon.. then in the settings->video option choose the "xvid codec"(can also try mpeg4 codec but sometimes it doesn't convert well some videos, xvid very stable), in video resize tab choose "custom size" and set it for 640 x 360. then enjoy)) i mean press "convert")
