hi all ,

I have a brand new e70 coming today , i will try again to do the upgrade on a new PC with nothing installed , i will also open up my firewall to all traffic and we will see whay happens !!

If i get another dead e 70 i will just send it back as faulty .

Perhaps you could try removing the sim card and memory card first, and so rule out whether they have an effect?

Brand new won't get dead as it has the latest firmware all ready.

2) Does anyone know if there are any Nokia Service Centres in the UK (preferably London) that can do the reflashing without sending the phone away to Nokia (with the consequent 3-4 week turnround)?

Tim, mine is flashed in the NSC, with the latest one.

Now it says there no new software available, and I want doesn't ask me if I need to re flash it as other some phones.

Did everyone who's phone crashed have fw 1.0610.05.06 15-05-06?

I have 1.0610.05.07 30-05-06 and a day before e70 came available to update on nokia software update, I tested the software and it gave me an option to reinstall my firmware. Yesterday evening when I tried, that option was not available for me, neither was an update.

Have they taken the update offline, or was the published update version 1.0610.05.07 30-05-06?

I had the software dated 30-05-06 when I received my phone a few weeks ago. Then when I tried to update it the other day, it nearly finished the update, then everything stopped. So I presume it was a later version that was trying to get sent to the phone.

Has anyone had a successful E70 update?

Before i go ahead and do the upgrade on a brand new out of the box e70 .... is there anything you want to tell me ???

Is there a problem with the update ???

Maybe Nokia pulled the update since it's buggy, as for me, it says there no update for your phone, mine is 1.0610.05.07 30-05-06

Hi,

I followed instructions to the letter.

This upgrade is just buggy as poop. It should be removed until the software updater works properly.

BTW: if there's a problem with connectivity such as Firewalls etc, it should test for it, but it seems so unlikely that a Firewall would stop the USB port from being updated.
