i`ve updated my firmware to 6.61 and now, when i try to start my phone, it says checking media memory... the display turns black, again the media memory message a few time and after that it says that the media memory is corupt and will be formated, i hit ok after which an operation failed message appears and the phone switches off.
help!

Remove the battery for say 5mins, as well as the memory. Replaced the battery back & turn on. If ok, turn off & put the memory, then on & see what happen.

there is no removable memory in 6500 classic and the battery bit was tried a couple of times.

sent it to service, they re-wrote the software... that was it, it`s working.

Hi,
I had the same problem too with a couple of new Prototype 6500c. Language pack "P" but flashed with pack "C"
every time i turned the phones on...Checking media memory...application failed.
real simple solution... make a usb connection to your pc with your handy..not through pc suite just connect as removable memory, and windows opens the 1Gb memory, you can view all folders add too or delete what you like ..."with caution"..don't want to loose your favorite music do you!
as the phones were new and all of the folders were empty
apart from what I had stored, I just copied my folders to my pc then deleted everything on the 1Gb internal memory, put my copied files/folders back disconnected from my pc.... and voila..
no more error message.

i have also this kind of problem.. i have brought my phone to all cellphone repair shop but they can`t fix it... they do the same procedures even OS., others they just reformat it but still memory is corrupted.. dah!! how is that? plz help
