when i try to install games or software like opera mini the phone starts to install then says error cannot install please help me

The phone won't just say "error cannot install". It will also give a reason why it cannot install what you're feeding it.

Could you be more specific about the error message given?

what happens is when i have tried to install from the web either games or the software opera mini the following happens
1) a message comes up preparing for instalation
2)then a note comes up download file name
3) click yes and it connects and goes through the instalation to the full 218kb say
4) when it has installed to the full ammount of kb's another message comes up in red unable to install!

does that make it a bit clearer as up until a few days ago i could install stuff okay dont know what i have done to change it the only thing that i have done was have orange take the adult lock off my internet coverage

I presume you were trying to install through wifi. Have you tried installing the same softwares using pcsuite?

no i was installing via text/internet links i was sent the link by text and when i clicked on it it downloaded the game/programme from the internet using orange internet and installed that way,

how can i install the same link via the pc suite?? sorry if i seem a bit thick but im an oldie and need stuff explained in easy form

Hi,

try to find this games/applications in PC downloadable form in Internet but on PC (from origin www sides f.e.www.opera.com). Then download it to the PC. Connect phone with pc. I hope you have Nokia PC Suite. Next click on those files you downloaded, mostly they should be a files with sis extension (f.e. opera-mini-4000.sis). Then proceed acording to the text in dialog boxes on PC screen and device display.

Sometimes you can not download some files because their certificates are not valid and phone check it before installation.

There is no such device as an N95 mini. If you have a phone that calls itself an N95 mini then it is not a genuine Nokia device and all bets are off.

Don't know whether this a typographic error for N97 Mini or not here; if so go to Menu > Settings > Application mgr. > Installation sett. - is Software installation = ALL and Online certificate check = OFF?

You should be able to install .sis(x), .jar and .wgz formats.
