You probably have a network branded handset. Nokia require the approval of the network before releasing firmware updates for branded handsets. Some networks are notorious for not bothering to approve the release of firmware updates.

You should contact the Customer Service department of you network to request they approve the updates for release.

Thanx for ur information bt im not getting what exactaly u wanna say, please tell me procedure for the same and what do u mean for network branded handset? how can i get the approval of the network? other peoples who r havin same network r gettin updated, then why cant i?

Also bear in mind that tne N73 always was a bit sluggish. It's not a recent phone. And yes, I do have one.

thanks friend, i read the details on link provided by u, but my handset is not network branded, i bought it plain from NOKIA but still NSU says that there r no updates available.

Nothing.

The N73 is an old model for which I'd be surprised if there were ever any more updates.

Not only that, but if your N73 is not one of the versions for the European market then you always get updates later anyway.

As far as I know, the latest version is 4.0812.4.0.1. If yours is an earlier version than that then the update simply hasn't been made available for your product code.

Complaining about that here will get you nowhere because Nokia will not even see your message. You can only hope to achieve anything by contacting Nokia themselves, and for that there's the "Contact us" link to the top-right of this page.

What is your problem exactly rohit? Which country did you buy your phone or more exaclty, your phone was made in which country? Look behind the battery you'll see.

Anyway this phone requires a last update, not for improvements but for its existing bugs.

Make a search in the discussion with the keywords "Bugs in FIRMWARE N73ME", you will see.

One example is the sms date. Since the creation of this phone, Im not meaning launching, I said creation, that is when it was within the hands of these people who tested for the phone, the bug of the sms date was never corrected!!!

All existing N73 (ME/Original) has this bug. Switch off the phone and tell someone to send you the sms. Then wait for about 30minutes before switching off the phone.

Put it back on and check the sms date. THE SMS DATE/TIME WHICH WAS DUE TO BE THE TIME THE PERSON SENT THE SMS IS REFLECTING THE TIME OF THE PHONE. In summary you will never know when the person sent you this sms. Only n73 has this problem. How can nokia made such a school boy mistake???

It's a good phone I must say and 90% of s60v3 software are compatible with it. We should not also forget that it was a best seller phone before n95 and n82.

My phones version is 4.0726.2.1.1 / RM-132 & its product code is 0554355. Its made in finland & i bought it in India.
There r updates available for all RM-133 series phones but none updates are for RM-132 phones.

Please do somthing for me brother, i hardley need updates.

All Nseries phones behave this way. There is no way to know when the text message was sent. Only when the sender's message centre transferred it to your phone, which is when you switched the phone on. The N95 and N96 behave like that too, and I expect other phones I have do as well.

it has available updates but NSU says that ther r no available updates.

I did an update in my N73ME 3 days ago and i now have firmware version 4.0812.4.2.1

As U mentioned ur devices' RM is "132". THEN as it claims its' HW is somehow different than 133 and you have to change ur hardware or simply Ur phone.:-)
