Will the N86 browser ever support pasting text?

Today I wanted to paste a phone number to an online phone book. So I went to the Browser and tried to paste the number inside a search field. I've already figured out how to cut and copy, but pasting is nowhere to be seen. I know that:

To cut or copy:

When in a text field, be sure not to select any text. Then, press the * key. You'll see Cut and Copy in the menu. Once you select either of them, the left soft key turns into Begin, and pressing it will start highlighting the text. Move the cursor to change the selection. Once you're done selecting text, press the left softkey again (it now says Cut or Copy). The phone tells you that "the text has been copied to the clipboard".

If you preselect any text, the Cut and Copy options won't be visible in the menu.

To paste the text you just copied:

There's no way to do that?! Since there's no Pen button on the N86, there's no way to paste. Sure, pressing the # key acts like the pen key in all other applications, but not the Browser. There it just zooms, or, if you disable zooming, the button does nothing.

There's a horrible workaround, though.

When in a text field, enable the predictive text input. Then, press the * key and go to Predictive text > Add word. In this dialog the # button does work and pressing it will display Paste above the right softkey.

This will also fill your T9 dictionary with garbage, is cumbersome and wrong.

So, how about it Nokia? Please tell me how to properly paste text on the S60 Browser on my N86 :smileyhappy:

Please use plain text.

Progress ..!

After having a conversation with a Nokia Care employee and after being told that there IS a paste function on the N86 browser, another employee stepped up and said:

"Thank you for contacting Nokia Care.

Unfortunately the preinstalled browser of the N86 8MP doesn't have a function to paste text. We've forwarded your feedback to our developement team. We apologize for the misleading information we gave you earlier.

"

Baby steps, Nokia, baby steps.. :smileywink:

Please use plain text.
