Which way should i use to update my firmware(N78)?

Hi everyone,

As i read along the forum i can say i am ready to update my N78 to v.30.011 as it shows to be very stable.I bought my phone 1 month ago and it has now v.12.046 installed. My question is this:is it better to wait for the v.30.011 firmware to be availabe via OTA or should i update it via NSU?I know that OTA update will be few megabytes and NSU will be like one hundred and more but anyway which one of them is better in my case since i will "jump" from v.12.046 to v.30.011?

P.S.Does anyone knows when v.30.011 is going to be available OTA?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Cheers

If the v30.0 is available via NSU and you want it hurry then upgrade it via NSU and if you are not in hurry then wait till update available via FOTA. Remember that FOTA required faster internet connection WiFi or 3G.

Updating via FOTA is preferable to doing so with NSU for many reasons, but you don't always have the choice. More and more often you see updates coming out via one method and not the other. Case in point, versions 11, 20 and 21 for the 5800 only came out via NSU, not FOTA. Version 30 was released via FOTA only, not NSU.

My advice would be to wait for a few weeks. If the update that you want comes out via FOTA between now and then, then you no longer have a dilemma and can update via FOTA. If, on the other hand, there has been no FOTA release by then, then you should update via NSU.
