when wil a update be availible

that can fix all this

ovi maps gone after hard reset

ovi store gone after hard reset

and my phone keeps saying insert sim on a rondom basis

plus when i hitt the call button its stops working

until i reboot

when can we expect fixes for these kinda horrible things

Nokia don't preannounce firmware updates so we only have rumours to work on. There are rumours of a small update with bug bug fixes before the end of the year and a major one early next year. We will have to wait and see.

The kind of horible things you describe are your own damn fault

a hard reset on an N8 is an emergancy if all else fails procedure only

take it to a care point and get it reflashed, and next time try something a little milder first

The reflash should return the phone to its out of the box state. Alternatively, you could also just wait for the impending firmware updates.

Most N8's, mine included, have been working satisfactorily since day one and did not require hard resets. You may have a faulty handset.

Had to hard reset mine, had it reflashed. does not restore Qt, No Ovi suite whether flashed or not, and all the other things that rely on Qt in te OS

and easily install it!

Nope.  Doesn't work.  Won't replace Ovi Maps, and anything else that was deleted by the hard reset.  Will have to wait for the next firmware update.
