Before updating my nokia 5800 Xm it showed software updates now it is showing SW updates, What is the difference .!!!

SW is SoftWare abbreviation

 

SoftWare update is firmware update : new version of the operating system on your phone which provides you with alot of new features and better performance and lower battery consumption than before

Software is not just firmware, but firmware is an example of software.

 

In the SW updates application you will also find updates for applications such as the OVI store client, Nokia Messaging etc.
