ricksville, if you PRESS AND HOLD the forward or backward clip you can fast forward or rewind to whatever point you want in the music player or in the Video player, it's not a bug!
My sources tell me that there won't be V13 but it will jump directly to V20. No word yet if this will bring new things, just fixes or a combination.

Hopefully we'll see a v20 which would indicate a major reworking, rather than just tweaking the FW.
Think alot still needs to be done to improve the speed of the phone, even with v12 there are still occasions where it looks like the phone is struggling.
Battery Life, Camera Image Quality, and the music player could all be improved.

In my opinion ;
1)camera quality, now is not especially sensitive, and lot of pics is blurred (quality of N95 will be sufficient)
2)sound during video recording, strange whizzing noises, when playback, sensitivity nedds to improving too.
3)possibility of download of Visual Radio data in wifi connection mode, now available over GPRS or Internet connections only.
4)add an option - opening Music player or Music folder after opening of multimedia keypad.
5)Second menu should have a configurable bookmark with applications, to add and remove what you want, like e.g. in N95.
It would be good, when someone from Nokia SW team has it read before launching of next soft.

Not that my opinion matters, because by time they coe out with it, i will prolly own a 3g iphone or an x1, but ...
#1 , first and foremost, they need to address the huge blue tooth issue. Everytime I use the the bluettooth, for any thing the phone locks up and needs to have the battery removed before it can be used again.Among many other blue tooth issues, not disconnecting when the other device is turned off.. This is bs, one of the best things about my n95 was that i connect it to my radio and steam audio and take calls with out using my hands, this phone is almost worthless to me with out these features, and the fact they lock the phone up mid call sometimes is majorly embarassing.
#2 same as number 1
#3 same as number 1 & 2
#4 they need to expand the 3g to the 1700 band( not sure if frim ware will do this),but us yanks in the us can only use the n96 3g on at&t. why make an unlocked worldphone if the best features only work with one carrier?
i doubt any firmware will fix it, but for the love of god nokia, start taking some respondsibilty for your product. Every time i call with an issue on this buggy peice of **bleep** that i am unknowingly beta testing for you at the low cost of $900, at least acknowledge that there is an issue.let me know you are wotrking on it, and really care if it gets resolved. Instead, everytime i call, you spend more time trying to figure out ways to get out of fixing it, telling me how your not going to fix it, or that the problem is unique to me, when a simple google search shows me the hundreds of other people that all dealing with the same bs every day.
In short, and to end my off topic rant, I owned nokia flagship phones for years , and loved almost every one, but when i got rid of my n-95-4 i in no way thought i was going to be taking a $900 step back. All my n95's worked flawlessly, and hardly ever had any issues, and it did things that the n96 could only dream of. i recall many times driving down the road, streaming audio to my bluetooth, using 3g to look up a web page , while calls were coming in, and it never even lagged...

there might not even be a v13 firmware. As Nokia might just make a major update and release like v20, v30. the title that you put for the post can be misleading to others as there thinking there will be v13 firmware.
Ur title should be changed to:
What do you think Nokia should fix/update for future N96 firmware?

As I cannot edit the title now I have started a new thread where hopefully we can answer the question rather than moan about the title.

This one's not just for the N96, but all current and future S60 devices.
Fix the S60 O/S once and for all. Sorting the file system out should be the main priority, i.e No more crashes resulting in lost data/corrupt memory/storage when installing themes. The ability to easily locate and eliminate faulty installs.

I've added birthdays & addresses to my Contacts. I would like to see those birthdays in my Agenda when they come up and that I could select this event (Contact) immediately to give him/her a call without having to go to my Contacts and to select from there.
Also when selecting a Contact I would like to be able to kick-off Maps from there using the Contact's address. At this moment it's the other way round: first you have to go to Maps from where you should be able to select a Contact. However I still haven't been able to select a Contact (you need to give in the exact name of your Contact, resulting all the time in Contact not found; it's not possible to select from the Contact-list).
Selecting from Contacts makes more sense because it's the central application for a phone to my mind.

For me, I don't want any new features, but what I would like is
Better reliability - I regularly get lockups, Especially if switching between multiple apps or navigating around quickly. I suspect there's a lot of timing windows in there. There's also intermitent unexplained issues with connectivity.
Performance - the phone is generally sluggish. Ever after a full reset it is not as snappy as the N95 8Gb
