Hi i got my 6700 last year and i thought there would have been some software updates by now.

I have version 07.60. I have been trying to get the updates through the pc and not the the phone via internet. If some one can tell me if there is any updates or is there a problem i cant get the updates. Many thanks

There has been a couple of updates since 07.60, the latest being 10.60.

If your phone is network branded or supplied then it's most likely the network that is stopping you from updating. Many networks are either slow or don't bother at all to approve updates.

Nokia is not allowed to release an update for a branded model without approval.

So if that is the case you need to take the issue up with the network.

With the problems I and many people are having with v 10.50 if I were you I'd stick with v 07.60!

Thanks for the reply s guys. My phone is not locked to a network so i don't know what is stopping it from updating.

By the sound of things i will be better leaving it as it is if there is problems with the upgrade.

The latest version is 10.60.

BUGS IN THIS VERSION:

* Calender entries that are created that link to a contact within the phone (eg adding a birthday by selecting a contact to add their birthday to your calendar) are deleted after the phone is power cycled.

* Call log will sometimes incorrectly show a dialled number as being to "no number" (eg it's trying to say that you have made a call to "no number" when clearly this isn't possible)

* When going to Menu - call log - msg. recipients, phone always says "contacts not ready"

* Call log has major issues: sometimes incorrect call duration will be displayed against a call in the log, sometimes received calls simply don't get stored in the call log and the call log also doesn't retain the last 5 events for the same contact/number, unless a different number format has been used (eg one time it was dialled in international format and another time national format).

Can anyone else with a 6700c confirm they have all above issues?

 I agree, since updating to 10.5 my camera and video camera not longer work. This needs to be sorted. I have tried to get some answers from Nokia but all I ever get is an automated reply telling me to use a certain form. Strangely enough, this is the form I used to ask the question in the first place!

Camera no longer working could simply be a faulty installation. Just reinstall it.

Hi,

I agree with chapelstboy and the call log issue.

I lost a couple of clients due to that problem.

Can I go back to 10.50 or is there another way to fix it?

I have a question.  I have a 6700 classic running 7.90 s/w  The product code is 058427  According to Nokia (using their update capability update tool)  that means I can only run 7.90 or lower.  Yet I see that this phone can run up to 10.5 on this board.  Also the new relase of navigation s/w was announced as available 14 days ago.  I think this is 13.xx or similar.  My phone was bought new from a Nokia business delaer as unassigned to any network.  If I try different SIM cards (Vodafone and O2) I do not get offered any higher software using the software update tool.  So does anyone know if I will ever see Ver 13.xx and if not why not?

Another question is could I go and get 13.xx off the sites that are now offering it as an exe file?

Seems quite unfair to offer free navigation software and then you cant get it like this.
