Honestly I wouldnt believe to much of what apple brang about. for the last couple of years they have annouced new facilties in their IOS platform, with comments like "for the first time ever on a mobile you will be able to.... " And when you look at your nokia, you find that nokia have been doing it for years. whilst this particular slide may or may not be true, there are so many other things that just arnt even close to be true.

I'd say customer satisfaction is more important than whether or not a phone maker is telling the truth at a product launch.

Well if you look at what has been said on this forum about truth and being upfront about stuff like rollouts of anna, many people here seem to hold this above all else.

The other thing too, customer satisfaction surveys can easily be swayed one way or the other simple by how you ask a question and how you rate the question asked etc. Now most of these surveys are done by or should be done by independant companies. But the end result is, the company who is asked to do the survey will ask the other party what it is they want to know and in what areas etc. All this sways the way the company asks the questions. They may even be given a list by the company who are commissioning the survey.

You can guarantee that companies like apple will never give the whole story or even a fully correct one. And this applys to many places not just apple.

Re: Symbian Belle coming 10/26

whoa, I was being honest and sharing the reason why Nokia no longer makes profit, if you can see their company financial statement it indicates a loss. It is not because their phone/hardware, rather it is solely due to the lagging OS. The way I see it if belle is a good OS and Symbian Anna is not good at all. Unless Nokia rectifies this quickly more people will switch to other vendors. Brand loyalty is something extremely valuable in current post-modern market behavior, but if customers feel that they have been taken for a ride then they will never look at the brand again. So people who leave Nokia, will not buy a Nokia phone again, whether it be Windows 7 or Symbian. It is important to treat existing customers the best way company can. And the sad thing is Nokia has a good weapon, belle, and their are not using it;

I bought a Nokia N8 8 months ago against my friends advices, now I am regretting it. The reason I bought the phone was because the faith I had in Nokia. I feel that company has let us down. If there is anyone familiar with modern Marketing it is not the delivery of the physical product that matters, but the service company offers after sales. That is why people go for Android, Android has committed that people who buy a Android device will receive updates for the next 18 months.

So Nokia it seems that you have not learned a lesson from what happened over the last year and a half.

I believe if you have a weapon then you should use it. No point keeping it when your market share is already going down. You can at least stop existing users from switching brands, because once they do so they will never come back.

And Nokia, If you really need to grow, then do not take opinions of people like jraduga. Because they are just showing that they are loyal may be to get some thing in return.

I receive absolutely Nothing from Nokia. I DO NOT ask for anything, Nor do I get offered anything or accept anything from Nokia. I pay full price for my phones, I buy them from a regular cell phone shop like you do.

I DO NOT have stock or shares in nokia. I DO NOT benefit in any form from nokia.

My Opinions are my opinions only. They are based on everything i have learnt thru working for various companies in the past, running my businesses, managing other businesses, personal studies thru out my life etc.

You talk about loyalty well let me put it to you this way.  I have had many mobile phones in my time, from all the way back to when a mobile phone meant you carried a heavy bag over your shoulder with you everywhere you went ( 1 of), to having a car phone which was hardwired to the car (2 of ), to huge motorola brick phones ( both analogue and digital) (3 of ), to motorola flip series hand held mobiles ( 3 of ), then an alcatel ( 1 of ), then a nokia 5110 (1 of), 9110 (1 of), 9210 (2 of), E90 ( 2of) and currently both an E7 and Iphone 3GS. I'm sure theres 1 or 2 i have missed. By far the nokia's are the most reliable.

I, like many other people on here, come here to learn stuff and to help others. You on the other hand came on here and annouced to the world you are leaving after only a few posts using inapropriate language. you gave some rant about what you thought about your phone, and now turn around to tell nokia how to run their business

You are inconsistant in your own statements, one minute saying how they have done a "superb job in low cost phones until now" to the stating in 2 lines later "Dumb and expensive".

Considerig their phones off the shelf do more than just about any other phone on the market off the shelf. I would hardly call them dumb or expensive. You talk about loyalty, yes i like Nokia phones they work for me. but you bought the your phone yourself, you at the very least need to show yourself some loyalty, you spent your money, why are you not prepared to stand by your own decision and see what can be done to make the decision a worthwhile one. The only thing you have said is that its got poor performance, you havent said exactly whats wrong at all in your rant. the only thing i can see is that you are ticked off at your choice and so you blame everyone else for it.

I will always stand up for anyone that is being attacked for incorrect reasons. I will always help anyone i can. if you want to attack me that is fine, i really dont care, but i do care about those who want help or ask for help. In my life I have done a lot I have trained people to do things that has seen them gain full time employment all out of my pocket. I have given people a roof over the heads and bought them food and grocerys all out of my pockets,  I have even saved peoples lives. If you want help then i will try to help, but done come on here with some rant or rave about something and not even try to help yourself. And then go on to say i do what i do for a kick back. I have never asked anyone for anything

Re: Symbian Belle coming 10/26

@jagawije: I really don't understand what you are trying to say... the logic of your arguments doesn't make sense to me. For instance, you are imploring Nokia to release the Belle update as a marketing exercise to hold customers. Surely it's not hard to figure out that Nokia will release it as soon as they possibly can, and therefore it's not ready to release. What possible reason could they have for not releasing it?

And what is so special about Android guaranteeing upgrades for 18 months? Haven't Nokia committed to Symbian^3 updates for much longer than that? Remember it's now over a year since it was first released.

And what is so wrong with your N8 that you regret buying it? I too have the N8 and am very happy with it. This phone of ours can do things that no other phone can do, and that's before I get the updates.

Nokia world is coming next week and as from rumors around various blogs....two new nokia wp7 phones will be on for sale around November so IMO we won't be getting belle before 2012 Q1

I guess time will tell. if thats what has to be then thats what will be. I'm sure Skyee will let us know when it starts to be rolled out. So we will all have something nice to look forward to.

Lets hope that windows phone and Nokia partnership injects new life into one of the most loved brands of all time. There used to be a time when a mobile phone was synonymous to Nokia. Glory days... Expecting them to be back.

Re: Symbian Belle release date

I think the foot-dragging by Nokia on Belle and delayed release of Anna for the NAM and Australia markets have shown the influence of Microsoft. Microsoft probably saw what Belle looked like on the N8, and requested that Nokia back off the release. Those who have installed Belle CFW or Belle leaks have seen the clunky S^3 transformed into a nice clone of Android UI. Microsoft is afraid of Android, and would like to slow it's takeover of the smartphone market. Microsoft would like Nokia fans to see and (most importantly) have the purchase opportunity of a Nokia with WP7 before Belle is released. Based on my experience with Belle leaks on the N8, I'd say that N8 buyers would probably be much less interested in a new phone, if Belle could turn the N8 into a "new" phone (which it does). The WP7 software will stop my Nokia phone purchases, I'm not interested in that at all.

I don't what nokia doing... so much of CFW releases on the air. many people do flashing their S3 phones with CFW. Nokia have to do something. May be I do flash my nokia N8 with recent CFW. if there is so much of belle cfw, why nokia taking so long time to release official symbian belle update to S3 phones??

Skyee announced a week or so ago, that belle being the OS AFTER Anna, would not be released until Anna rollout was complete.

Once Anna is out completely then they will look at belle. But i'm sure they are using thing like the issues that popped up with anna, and doing there best to make sure that the same bugs are not reproduced when belle is rolled out.
