Dude, first off you're totally unrealistic and second you don't know what you're talking about. I'm using an incomplete version of the leaked chinese version which has features you just said aren't coming with the update.
Why complain when the rumours don't come true? It's your naievity that lead you to believe what random websites say in order to get hits.
Who exactly told you this month, then wait for the next month all these times? Nokia? No it was not Nokia that gave you unrealistic expectations.
Learn to differ fact from fiction for a start lol.
If you actually do your research you'll find that your X10 actually is way behind when it comes to firmware updates of android, a perfect example of Nokia's lack of speed being over exagerated, and you're trying to throw that in Nokia's face? Shame on you.
Nokia don't prematurely announce firmware updates for exactly the reason you're complaining, unrealistic expectations.
Hate to say it but If the N8 is so painful for you to use you're I.Q. leaves you more suited for an iPhone.

Nope, they said Anna will be released for all BY the end of August... And this mean before the end, not starting from the end... ![]()

I see the delay in Anna preloaded on N8s in the shops interesting: Elop will make heads in Nokia roll for embarrasing him, or intentional as part of Nokia's strategy to wean us of Symbian?

Almost a year with my N8 and no updates, symbian sucks and nokia is going down every day more. Nokia is soooo slow to any process, shipping, release, update, etc. everything sucks.
After 10 years with Nokia I don't have more choice that switch to a better manufacture with a better OS.

@alcoloide If we're talking manufacturer, Nokia is the best. Maybe not in terms of OS but in phone build their quality is head and shoulders above the others. My 5800 is still able to compete with Galaxy S in terms of music through headphones, has better speakers as well. Furthermore, using integrated GPS, the 5800 is able to acquire my position accurately to about within 5m, but the Galaxy S using A-GPS cant even fix me correctly consistently. I still get positions 100m away from my current. ![]()
In terms of better OS, I've used both of the other OS, and my conclusion is that none one of the three (iOS/Symbian/Android) is necessarily better than the other. I have an Android phone and there are times that I really regret having went for it (my wallet does not however, got a brand new Galaxy S for cheap as there was a sale. Even cheaper than a C7, so its sort of bang for buck thing).
Sure the others have more apps, but when it comes to pure OS, it seems that iOS is simply due to hype, while Android is able to do everything that Symbian can do and vice versa as well, only thing is that they slap on better chipsets on it and makes lots of hype thru advertising and looks.
Also, the N8 has received 2 updates ever since it was released. If you have not received updates, its not Nokia's fault anymore, especially if you have an operator branded phone. Operator branded phones cannot update if the operator does not release the update for its subscribers.

I know this is an N8 thread, but I have a brand new E7 (LOVE IT!) from Amazon. I know Nokia said that new S^3 phones in July would ship with Anna, but I simply thought, what are Amazon going to do with all of their non-Anna stock?? So lo-and-behold, my E7 arrived a few days ago, no Anna on board. But to be honest, I don't care that much, I'm ok to wait a few more weeks, because the UI of S^3 is great and easy to use, and with a free "Anna theme" from the Ovi store, it looks really cool! I think a 1GHz processor should've been loaded on though, it is a little laggy but not so much that it really bothers me, but a little extra power would make it smooth as butter.
Looking forward to the better Calendar, Browser and updated Maps, and the carousel-style homescreens (don't forget about Maemo 5 people!) And to those people being negative about Nokia, chill out. These phones are works of art, my E7 is ridiculously cool looking, and while, yes, waiting for a major update like Symbian Anna can be frustrating, we were told it would be at the end of August, so there you go. It's not the end of August yet, so...

I really wish that the Symbian Anna update for my Nokia N8 comes soon... I just bought the phone last May... I'm from the Philippines. I hope Nokia reads this... Thank you very much...

So nokia say they they have started shipping N8's with Symbian Anna, So why have they not released symbian Anna via the update, if it works, then surely they have no reason to hold it back. I have always used nokia phones, never had much trouble with any of the previous models I've owned, this N8 although a nice phone, it does leave me thinking, next time I just might go with another company. Bottom line is, if Symbian Anna is ready and currently being shipped, then it's ready so release it please :-)
