Re: Symbian ANNA battery Problem

This has been reported in several threads similar to this. Some users report the reason for poor battery as apps from previous firmware still remaining resulting in battery drain... And recommend a clean install rather than an upgrade... They've also recommended setting only the most important widgets, signing out of Microsoft communicator and social before exiting, setting online search off in the search app, wlan scanning to power saver mode... Hope this helps you guys.

Re: Symbian ANNA battery Problem

I have tried all format options and then restored only my data without older version phone settings losing all apps, but still battery life is worse. Nowadays N8 is rebooting itself many times.

Re: Symbian ANNA battery Problem

Regarding battery problems in symbian Anna after update, as suggested earlier app stop is one way to check background apps. And those who miss battery monitor, Nokia battery monitor 2.1 version is now available. And I personally recommend an app called Green phone for battery enhancement.

Re: Symbian ANNA battery Problem

I just installed symbian Anna, and I hard reseted my N8 before that. And even if I barely use my phone, the battery can't last more than 2 days. Before Symbian Anna, if I barely use it, it used to last almos a week.

Re: Symbian ANNA battery Problem

Same problem with N8 aswel. When the phone runs with older version, battery life is 2.5 to 3 days. After installing symbian Anna (via Nokia ovi suite) battery life came down to 10 Hrs with out using for any calls/WIFI/Photos.

It seams no quality checks performed before releasing latest software. It's really damaging the Nokia's fame.

Yes I can. I said If I barely use it, it was easy to last one week with one battery charge. No need to freak out dude.

Didn't happened with symbian anna. Now after I bought an iPad I always barely use the phone but the battery goes away fast.

Re: Symbian ANNA battery Problem

Sorry for my effrontery. had to ask the dictionary what *barely * means. how long lasts the battery of the ipad? I'm interested to get a pad in near future, can't decide between an android or an apple.

Re: Symbian ANNA battery Problem

After the upgrade to ANNA I had the same problems as mentioned before in this discussion.

But after some actions, which I will describe, my problems are gone.

1. I removed all the E-mail accounts from my C7 (After ANNA upgrade it almost continously checked for mail !)

2. I did a re-install of the Upgrade, with OVI-Suite (Original upgrade was also done via OVI, including the 2 ANNA updates)

3. I did a reset of the C7: menu => Settings => Phone => phone mgt => settings => reset
This action did NOT format my C7, so I kept all apps and data. I just had to modify again my startupscreens with apps, backgrounds etc.

4. I added my mailboxes again.

Results: It all seems to work like before the ANNA upgrade and the battery life is back to normal.

Succes to any of you who want to try this.
