1) Device name
Nokia N8
2) SW update method which was used
Nokia OVI suite
3) Symptoms after the update
Bad: Battery life drastically came down. now only 10 hrs (talk + standby). Before updates it was around 2-3 days
WIFI can't be switched off permanently. Even WIFI is OFF, it scans on it's own.

If you look at other discussion groups such as /t5/Software-Updates/HELP-No-QuickOffice-after-ins
talling-Anna/td-p/1118349/highlight/false you will see that your management of the Anna update has been nothing short of a chaotic disaster with many people scrabbling to restore basic functionality that should never have been adversely impacted in the first place.
Let me start by making it clear that my comments are restricted to updating via the dreaded bloatware called Ovi Suite. Not OTA.
Second, let me stipulate that my experience relates to an N8-00 in the UK,
Third. There is much reference to Anna 1/2 and 2/2 but only one single download was offered in the UK.
Fourth, because Ovi Suite is such dreadful software it is impossible for the average user to tell what has been updated and what has not. There is no equivalent to the Windows functionality that allows one to review what has been updated.
Having made those observations:
1. On one PC, perhaps because it is so low powered and Ovi is such a resource hog, the update would not run at all after it lost the USB connection. Lousy programming gave no indication as to why
2. Changing to another more powerful PC the update ran to conclusion. The phone worked and showed the dreadful default Anna theme complete with indecipherable ugly icons which look as if they have been drawn by a 6 year old who was not told what they were meant to represent. That it least was easy to fix by changing to another theme - Midnight Aqua. However and critically;
3. Neither QuickOffice nor Adobe Reader were present. That has caused me and numerous others endless angst as they are core, paid for, functionality. It must have been obvious to Nokia from a cursory glance at this bulletin board that this was a major problem yet no solution was posted. It was left to helpful users and it was only by that route that I got these two programs back. The Nokia messages simply said all was up to date which it manifestly was not.
4. I am still left with an error message when I turn my phone off and then on again. That reads "Phone Setup: Feature not Supported" What feature? No idea.
5. Checking for updates in Ovi Suite (or even OTA) still gives the false message that everything is up to date and no updates are available.
I am the first to accept that this is a major upgrade and that presents problems. That explains but does not forgive manifest mismanagement,
What is unforgivable is that having made gross errors and caused users massive inconvenience Nokia - and it would seem to be your team - have not pulled out all the stops to provide clear solutions on these message boards or, even better, to rush out a fix which can be quickly and simply downloaded using Ovi.
Many people were not surprised to hear in February that the Nokia raft was burning. I had hoped that having made the admission Nokia would have done something about it. The only thing that appears to be alive and well is the desire to lose loyal customers.
By the way, at least your spell check has good taste: it does not recognise "Ovi".
This. In particular, no. 3, 4, and 5.
And this is despite the fact that QuickOffice is still in the user guide function.
Why did QuickOffice and Adobe Reader have to disappear from the N8? Has anyone actually answered that at all?
