I have a n97 unlocked bought in the us working on a rogers network. Everything was working then I installed the update. Now my map does not work.
I went to maps they said go to aplication > sw update > map update "there is no map update there.
I read install map loader "does not reconise my phone"
I read install ovi suite "Cannot find mapsor voice guidance files on your device"
went to contact nokia " Could not find a email or phone # to contact some one"
did a search "nothing"
found a help link for maps under support "page not found"
Anybody know how I can get maps that nokia brags so much about how good it works? One more thing I can no longer install aplications one of those updates took that feature away, I want to insstall a mpbile antivirus.
Thank you

about mobile antivirus; you don't need it as there are no viruses for symbian phones.

I went to that site and under canada page not found. Under the US I found a link on how to restore the phone to ariginal factory setting, clicked on it, but found nothing to tell me how to do it.
I finally found the map install option on my phone it is under aplications>phonesettings>swupdate
But when I cllick on it download faluire. I am using wifi

Your phone was fine till the update, so that means something went wrong during the update. You could try reinstalling the update and also try a *#7370# reset. Don't forget to backup your data beforehand. Only backup the absolutely minimum as you want to avoid restoring any bad settings.

tried installing a nokia map 3.03 using the aplication installer it said not compatable with my phone do I want to install anyways I said no. Before I render the map useless are there any Idea's. I thought firmware updates are suppose to improve your phone not make it worse

Most software updates do improve the phone. In fact, my N97 was updated and it is working fine. I've even installed the latest Ovi Maps v3.04 with no problems whatsoever. It sounds like something went wrong with your update, which is why I am suggesting a firmware reinstall or reset.

I forgot if you believe there are no virus for the nokia operating system you better think again. If the hackers now that nokia has this attitude then nokia will be target because they will be an easy pray. One more thing I it is true about the virus. Then why is kaspersky making virus program for nokia phones designed for each model

We didn't say there isn't one, just there isn't one you can't avoid by using common sense. Just take simple precautions like not accepting bluetooth connections from unknown phones and not installing any aplications from unreliable sources.
