iam using windows xp SP3 and when i try to install the software i get the following error...

Error 1720.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run.
contact your support personnel or package vendor

i have tryed doing windows update but we are also having problems doing them as well!! any help will be gratefull!!

the very best solution:

This is easy to get around. The error is only in Nokia's combined installer, not the NSU installer itself.

1. Download and install 7-Zip. Don't worry it's free!
(No, neither WinRAR nor WinZip will do for this)

Get it here: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

2. Use 7-Zip to extract the contents of NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_en.exe into a folder. You should now have a bunch of folders and a few files.

3. Go into Packages, then NokiaSoftwareUpdater, then Setup

4. Launch NokiaSoftwareUpdater.msi (double-click it).

5. That's it!
