In June I bought my First Nokia in years, a E75 I was very happy with it 3SE sold it as Skype compatible, and I finally managed to install skype on my device, it workd perfectly until yesterday. Yesterday I upgraded my E75, before doing that I took a full backup. After the upgrade I restored the settings and the data from the backup, but Skyope wasn't in the backup while other 3rd party applications was. I tried to download Skype from 3SE site but got the message that "your phone doesn't support Skype" instead I downloaded it direvtly from the Skype site, the thing is that thay only priovide a version called "Skype Lite" nowdays (and not for E75 but the E71 version woks fine). The Skype Lite version is totally different from the Skype mobile version and it costs a fortune to use!!!

Of course I regret that I did the Upgrade, I will never ever again upgrade a Nokia phone!

Do anyone have a solution to this problem or is the only thing to do throw my phone into the bin?

Why not just use another application like Fring which also does Skype plus a whole lot of other stuff. Fring is free and allows you to connect and make skype calls using only wifi which means your skype to skype calls are totally free.

Well I've tried Fringe, and I like it, however unlimited usage of Skype is included in my contract (I don't have unlimeted usage of data) so for me Skype is the application to use

I am extremely worried if you could help me out would be a great help.

I have bought a Nokia E 75 mobile from 3 australia care on a 24 months contract.They told me that it is skype competible.But when i tried it , it does not.

Skype is the main sorse of communication for me so extremely import.As i have already entered into 24 month contact could you please confirm wheatr this mobile is skype compitibel or not? or is there any other software like fring you have tried that workes well with skype on nokia E75??

Only problem I have found is that is currently does not support Video Calls, but voice works great.
