Problem with N73 firmware update.

Hello, i have a Nokia N73 and i can't get the last firmware. There is an error that is driving me crazy, i don't understand why it wouldn't update.

The error is: Please note that your mobile service provider, operator or carrier may not have approved this latest Nokia device firmware.

My firmware version is: 3.0638.0.0.1 from 30-10-2006 RM-133.

That means that my phone has never been updated.

What can i do to update the firmware to the lastest version? I've seen a lot of fixes and i just can't get it done

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Problem with N73 firmware update.

Hi there, I dont know what displayed that message your p.c or your phone? the error message is self explanatory and this is another example what a branded phone can offer ( i think your phone is network branded) i would suggest you read a topic in Pool of knowledge section in this board by posted by "mcblueue" about branded phones

If a reply has solved your problem click Accept as solution button, doing it will help others know the solution. Thanks.

Re: Problem with N73 firmware update.

The  error was from the PC, from PCSuite.

My phone is branded, but i've unlocked it.

It's normal from the error to persist ?

Thanks.

Re: Problem with N73 firmware update.

Do this.. Uninstall Nokia PC Suite and NSU from your PC and restart it. Now download the latest version of Nokia PC Suite and NSU from Nokia website and install it in your PC and restart it again. Now turn off firewall and antivirus software and connect your mobile with PC. Now backup all the data of your mobile using Nokia PC Suite backup utility (for safety, if any problem persist). Now restart your mobile and connect it with your PC using original data cable. Now run NSU and do the procedure as written in NSU. Don't run any application in your PC or mobile. Don't touch your mobile untill "successful update" message appear in NSU. After complete the update process, restore all backup in your mobile and enjoy. If the problem still persist then you can't do anything at home. Go to the mobile shop of which brand you have purchased it from and tell them to upgrade your mobile's firmware. Good luck...
