There is no log-in for me. I attempt the OTA update, it attempts to connect to the server and then says unable to authenticate username/passowrd. I have looked at my settings and there is info in those fields, but I never put it there and would have no idea what they should be. What do your settings say?

I recommend to hard reset your phone and try to update after that.

Re: Please help for update

Forget the hard reset.

This is the way to do it:

Go to Menu --> Settings --> Phone --> Phone mgmt. --> Device updates --> Options --> Server Profiles

Server Name   Nokia
Server ID   Nokia
Server password   firmupservpass
Access point   [select your Wi-fi or Mobile internet AP]
Host address   https://dms.update.nokia.com/dms/omadm

Port    443
User name   nokiams
Password   nokiamspass
Allow configuration  Yes
Auto accept requests  Yes

Try these settings and let us know if it worked out! :smileyhappy:

Re: Please help for update

hmm... I do not have the last setting. I have "Network authentication" instead and it is set to No.

Re: Please help for update

I tried turning the last setting both on and off. No luck. The Nokia server profile still says "not configured" and it will not complete the configuration. Whether I try to complete the configuration or just try the update it fails. I get the message to choose wi-fi, then the Nokia icon while it checks the server, then the message that it cannot authenticate the server/password. I input the settings exactly like illinjah suggested. I had read somewhere that OTA does not work in the US, but I can't see why that would be. I am attempting over the internet and it shouldn't care where I am unless it is device specific and the US models somehow prevent this.

Re: Please help for update

I know it's been a while, but I found another way to solve the annoying "configuration error" and I'd leave it here for someone else. Nokia tells you to turn off the Internet File Sharing in the FAQ of the NSU. Here it didn't work. So I decided if it is a network problem than I'd turn off the ICS. It worked and I didn't have to turn off any of my security software (firewall and antivirus). So.

Start menu > Execute (or use the Search box in the start menu of Windows Vista) > Services > Find ICS in the list of services  > Right mouse > Stop. Now NSU will find the new firmware.

Please turn on the ICS again after you finish the update.
