PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

In a last year, Nokia said new update with a improved browser will be released in a Early Q1. So i wait, new year is gone, january, february....now i a april? Starts Q2 and nothing? Why promises Nokia and lies? I am angry and very dissapointed. Nokia N8 is a flag model and a support? Joke? During a more half year selling, we get a two small updates without a new features.

A week ago, i get a Sony Ericsson arc - this device has a much better browser than Nokia with a prehistoric version of their browser. Until this time, i was a satisfied user of Nokie N8, but now i regret buying of this product of Nokia with a horrible support.

For example, Galaxy S get update to 2.3 more faster than PR 2.0 for Nokie N8. It´s very funny :smileyhappy:)

Now i will waiting a few months to release in a autumn of PR 2.0, maybe Q4?

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

I don't get this obsession with updates. If the device has any serious bugs, then obviously and hopefully they will/should be fixed.

But other than that, you and nobody else can expect to receive "new features" after you buy a device. If you get them, fine, if you don't, also fine (e.g. like the free navigation).

I have a E75 where everything works perfectly fine (yes, no free navigation, but nobody promised it). No bugs I'm aware of, and no features I'm missing, so you can guess I'm not waiting for an update (for what?).

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

Nobody ?

Android devices usually get a new version of android about four months. Nokia ? 7 months and nothing !

Optimus 2X get a new version in a three months

Optimus One get a new version ( 2.3) in a five months

Galaxy S get a new version (2.3) in a four months.

This is a support.....

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

@reinob. In general you are quite right as If the phone was delivered with what was promised, we have nothing to complain for. - Everything else would be a bonus.

On the other hand, in this case with S^3 we were actually promised a constantly eveloping operating system were new features was supposed to be made and then pushed out as updates as fast as they were ready. So in that case we were actually promised updates.

Now, I have my E7 and it's been a very good device so far, but unfortunately there are a few bugs which I have discovered because of my way to use the phone. Often while listening to radio and trying to multitask with the browser, the phone will freeze and I will have to do the 8 second press of the power button to get it back running. So some basic functions and combinations does not work as supposed to.

On an another hand ( I have many of them:smileywink: ) Nokia will need to follow what other brands do to get new customers and make those who are stay with the make. So this point of view would not have any legal depth to it, but is a clear trend in the market.

But you're quite right about what you have posted:smileyhappy:

What's also slowing Nokia down is the product codes for countries, regions, operators etc There are tons of small variations which of course, due to the amount of customers, will make this go slower, much slower.

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

Fender77. Agree with your comments there totally. I have Nokia E71. Works as it should and most of the blips are now gone.

My new Nokia C7 though is still full of small but niggling issues that need the updates as

promised. The update release procedure is a minefiedl though!!! I

I've read some post to theses forums and some people really need to try the phone before they

buy it......:smileywink:

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

@fender77,

AFAIK Nokia said they would drop version numbers after Symbian^3 and updates would be continuous. So far so good.

What they didn't say is what exactly would be coming and when. Keep in mind that most "sources" rely only on rumours, as Nokia has never (?) given an official date for anything.

On top of that, Nokia has historically had the whole mess with the country variants and product codes (probably this is simply an effect of Nokia being so widespread worldwide and operators wanting to have control over everything).

And let's not forget: if Google is releasing a new version of Android every week, I'd say they have a problem with quality control :smileyhappy: Perhaps some users like this constant updating, as it makes them feel cooler or something. For such users, I would recommend Android :smileyhappy:.. until different brands and different carriers manage to convert it into a Symbian-like monster.. ;-)

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

But android has a thousand times moder web browser, has a more modern e-mail client etc. What has a symbian? I like symbian, but camera interface is outdated, browser also, e-mail client also. Where is an update? Nokia sleeping.

So you'd rather have a buggy unfinished software than a delay to get a finished one? *facepalm* Oh yeah, Android gives fast updates? Well maybe for Samsung, and HTC. Sony spent one year before they updated X10 from Android 2.1....I think the OP bought the wrong brand again. Here's hoping they don't do that again.

Seriously though, would you really have had Nokia release an unfinished software on time, rather than them try to finish it and get it working properly before releasing? That's why they dont announce update release dates. I never saw that Q1 promise on an official site.

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

This is where is nokia is laging, This is the main reason the Sales are coming down Quarter by Quarter.

We have to leave with what nokia offers, Demand and requirment does not matter.

Now atleast we all should understand. What customer means to Nokia.....

Lets hope things will get better in future..

Re: PR 2.0 aká Anna. Big Failure Nokia!

Nokia originally sold us buggy and unfinished software, not to mention phones that keep restarting (if you're lucky) and displays that think that dark shades of grey can be represented with purples.

I'd rather Nokia had at least got it's basics right before it decided to rush these contemptible phones out.

What's the point in getting my phone fixed a year after I bought it? I'll already have a new phone by then.

If we stayed quiet, Nokia would do nothing and wait for the storm to pass
