i just update ny n82 firmware...31.0.016 to 35.0.002...via my computer. after downloading 129.2mb instalation file updating begains...i saw a test screen also display...after that when its process compleat my computer also shows that my updating is sucessfull. and my phone turn on....and afer that when i chek my softer verson (*#0000#) it also shows 35.0.002.. but main problem is after this process ITS SHOCKINGLY I FOUND THAT MY PRIVIOUS DATA..LIKE ( SMS...CONTACTS..IMAGES..MUSIC FILES..ETC ) ALL R THERE...NOTHING DELETED. so plz tell me how it is possible after my sucessfull firmware update all sms image..music file are as same as before. , how could i sow those sms..images..music file.( BUT when i normaly just format my n82 using (*#7370#) every thing in my phone memory LIKE --sms--contacts. image was delet...) but when i update my firmware..then how those thing as same AS before.....plz.plz..tel me..plzzz .

If n82 has UDP (User Data Prevention) then its Normal. don't worry.

CoolBelief is right. this is normal for N82. if you want to reset your phone, try a soft or a hard reset.

Factory settings reset. Type *#7780# and the phone's lock code (Nokia's default lock code is 12345). This reset restores the phone's original settings.

Soft reset. Type *#7370# and the phone's lock code.
Warning!Soft reset deletes all the phone's data (C drive).

Hard reset. Switch the phone off. Press and hold three keys together, the green key, the * key and the number '3'. While you are holding these keys, switch the phone on. Don't release these three keys before you see the Nokia hands logo.
Warning! Hard reset (as soft reset) wipes the C (phone memory) drive.

Hard reset for 5800; Press and hold green + red + multimedia button and turn the phone on at the same time.

Hard reset for N97; Press shift + space + delete and turn the phone on at the same time. Don't let the three keys before you see the Nokia logo (or the country selection screen).
