Hi,

I have successfully updated my N8 firmware to Anna including all s/w updates (mandatory as well as optional) and all the updates were successful.

However, now when I try to launch Ovi store, I just see the launch screen and the app closes automatically. I have tried hard reset, manual installation of ovi store but nothing worked for me.

Did anyone face a similar problem? Any ideas to fix this problem will be highly appreciated.

Not sure which version pre-installed in Symbian Anna so don't know whether this helps here:

Doesn't matter where it is downloaded on PC, open Ovi Suite, connect N8 and then double click on above downloaded .sisx and you will be asked whether you want to install it upon N8 or tell you whether not possible.

I have already tried using the link that you have shared. The installation is successful but when i launch ovi store it never loads and the app crashes.

looks like lot of people are facing this issue after updating to Anna.

I have little different issue with OVI Store. After update to Anna, it works till the moment I try to sign-in or download something. It just goes to downloading screen and stays there forever. Furthermore the cancel button does nothing. I guess it is because OVI site is overloaded by people updating to Anna. Will see in few days.

I have the same issue: after the start screen i get thrown back to home screen. Anna update has been a massive pain for me so far and now this.

I'm havin' the same problem. First it did like n8_fan_n8l phone. After i installed it with smart installer, that aspergerguy linked, it just keeps loading the ovi store when opened. I would really appreciate solution for this problem!

Solved my problem by installing nokia drop from betalabs. Sleeping screen, etc. work also i think, as they install some qt files. Qt is the issue here once again, it seems.

Hey! I found a solution for my problem. First delete ovi store. Then go to http://fixqt.com/ and install all six components, then use the smartinstaller to install ovi store. After that ovi store FINALLY started working on my n8.

This solution worked for me:

>3-Button Hard Reset

NOTE:

*You will lose all data such as messages, contacts, notes, photos & videos etc., so please make a backup before you do this.

*All preinstalled applications will be removed, but after the update process you will have Quickoffice, Adobe Reader, Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, Ovi Music, Internet Radio, Shazam, Microsoft Communicator and a few others.

*You MUST have at least 75% battery.

>SW Update:

1. Symbian Anna 1/2

2. Symbian Anna 2/2

3. Ovi Store

4. NFC with free game

5. Social

(restart after every install)

Mine works perfect now, Anna icons and everything (C7-00, 059B7W4).

NOTE:

*When restoring data do not restore applications & settings as this may cause the problem to re-occur.

Ovi store loads up but when i get to my stuff it just keeps loading. i have tried everything and nothing works. when i try to install the qt files that skyee says to do i get error code 300 so cant even do that.

I have the same problem. The store doesn't work and trying to install the QT updates from the PC Ovi app as recommended in the FAQ gives me 'error code 300'. Trying to install them from the phone itself results in "filetype not supported" (even though it's a .sisx file.) Annoying as hell.

For the Ovi not login issue I applied all steps described here http://fixqt.com/ and it worked for me. Now OVI Store is loading and connecting to my account so I´m now downloading apps again!
