Nokia5800 not able to dial numbers after v40 update

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I updated my nokia5800 to firmware v40.It now shows the new startscreen.

From the startscreen, when I press the left button at the bottom to get the dial-numbers screen - button called Telefoon (Telephone) here - nothing happens. No dial screen.

Same for the Contact button. Nothing happens. I can access the contacts from main menu and make a call.

From the settings menu, I tried selecting another startscreen theme, the "standard" one with icons at the bottom. Same problem. However, this one shows a small gray gradient above the icon-buttons. width about 3 millimeters just above the button with the icon. Nothing happens otherwise

So, how can I get the dial screen back?
I also couldn't find a way to reinstall the firmware or downgrade to v30 which worked perfectly.

Re: Nokia5800 not able to dial numbers after v40 update

Someone gave  a tip about a hard reset. That seemed to work.

It gave an error though, and even when trying to read quickly, it disappeared before I could finish.

However, I can dial numbers again.
