Nokia Software Updater not recognizing N97 connection

I'm being told I have a major software update for my phone, and that I need to update it via my computer.

However, my Nokia Software Updater will not recognize my device, and I don't know what is wrong.

I know I need this update, and this whole thing is frustrating!

its an easy task ,always trust administrator account if you use xp,then connect the usb cable at the rear port of your desk top, then remove other brand cable drivers if you had installed, just download the new version nokis pc suite first connect the mobile with pc suite, if it get connected then surely you can work out easily and then download nokia software updater ,then your problem is solved
