I emailed 3 the other day asking when they are releasing v21 ... not a helpful reply really !!

It’s good to know that the new phone is working well. I understand you want this software update as Nokia has released the version 21 and you still have the version 20.0.019.

Our 3 branded phones are designed by the manufacturer to work with the 3G Sim card only. So the latest version that we support for our locked Nokia N97 is 20.0.019.

The latest version from the Nokia website is currently meant for the unlocked phones in the market. Please don’t update this version, as it will affect your phone warranty. As soon as we have the next updated version available, we’ll mention the details on our website www.three.co.uk. After that, you can update it on your phone.

I'm pretty fed up with the fact that I still haven't had the new firmware update. I downloaded OVI maps, have no memory & constantly get messages reminding me I have no memory.

I phoned my local Three store a while back to see if they had any ideas of when the new software would be verified by themselves & the employee there had absolutely no idea of what I was going on about! Their response was......Nokia just put it out there, not us.........try Software update for your phone & PC Suite!!!!

However after updating to v2.0, I had problems connecting to my home Wifi & after hours of being on the phone to Three, they sent me to a Nokia repair centre which actually rectified the problem at the 2nd attempt.

This is my 2nd N97 after a previous one was faulty......shock!

I've always liked Nokia's as they are easy to use, however I really wish I had got an iPhone.

At least i've only got another year before I can upgrade!

Come on Nokia/Three, sort it out.

We're now at the 31st  March.  Still Nothing. 

And by nothing, I mean nothing.  Product code 0586308 gets you the message:

Sorry, there is no software currently available for that product code via the Nokia Software Update tool.

Hi All,

I questioned with Three (via email - to someone at there executive office who contacted me previously regarding the V20 update)  what the status of the V21 update was for it's handsets.   After numerous exchanges of email with them (pointing me at the links to NSU) the response is that they now don't plan to provide a V21 firmware release as it "does not correct the bugs and we have found instances where this update is making a reduction in performance."

However, Three are suggesting that Nokia have "returned to the drawing board" and will launch a V3.0 firmware in the next 2 - 3 weeks.

Once released this will be evalulated, and released if approved internally.

Read into this what you will.

Any more news on this ichapman, Im having problems with my bluetooth and car stereo and im hoping a new firmware will fix this!

Got 2.2 today got a text from nokia saying that an update was available so when I got in backed u the n97 and did he update, seems slightly faster at a few things, the kinetic scrolling is good on a few more menus now still not anywhere as good as it should be.

Maybe this is the start of something good ( but I wouldn't hold your breath)

Hi I've got a nokia n97 and I can't update the firmware everytime I try I get a msg no device is found but it will let me sync photo's etc but wont let me update I'm on version 20.0.019  can anyone help as I'm tiered of speaking to 3 rearguard this problem and getting no where with them

There are two ways to opdate system software: via a pc of without a pc. I suppose you tried it via a pc. What does happen if you try a system software update without a pc?

i have updated on xp a while ago. check if you have the newest ovi suite for that. Then uninstall all nokia apps and try again. Ig still no results bring it to nokia store or any other service point. they should do it for you for free (just do a backup before that) Service points are in nokia centers and in some carphone warehouses
