Hi. Can anyone tell me if v20 for the n97 is available in india? I heard that some people have got the update. The NSU just tells me that there is no newer software available. I'm stuck on v12. When will v20 be rolling out? 

I also read that the v20 update has been pulled up from the servers? Is it true? 

My product code is 0587487. I've also checked the "Can I update" at the www.nokia.co.in/softwareupdate . There it tells me the latest version for my product code is 12.x.xx....

Also people said the to run ovi store successfully on the n97 2.0  you require to update it. Can it be updated before updating the phone software?

i send a mail to nokia asking about da availability of firmware for my product code nd they replied

 "Thank you for e-mailing Nokia Care.

This e-mail is in reference to the software version of Nokia N97. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused. Further, we will not be in a position to comment on the latest availability of the firmware version.

We look forward for your continued patronage on Nokia products and services."

I also have 0587487 stupid product code. I had to take it to service center for the 12.0.024 firmware because it was not available for me even after 45 days of release.

But now I downloaded the NSU from europe site.. and bingo!!! got 20.0.019

I suggest you all to get the NSU from europe site.

Get the latest NSU.

The firmware you'll get from there is the latest one with language option of English/Philipino.

It's all good. India has its v2.0, fret not.

0587487 is in India.

Unless you have changed the product code and void the warranty you cannot get v20

I have installed v20 and am playing with it since then. I must tell u n97 has bcom lot lot lot better. The free ram is 46.6 Mb while running handy taskman, Messaging, Menu. Free phone mem is 59.3 Mb (I have not installed any soft in phone mem).

I suggest you to take your phone to service center, because I confirm it is available for 0587487. Sometimes (I guess) there could be a problem with the handset/firmware that its not possible to update via FOTA or NSU, like I faced updating from v11 to v12. I was expecting this issue again for v20, but luckily I got it

I visited the europw site for the V20 update, although is doesnt show for 0587487 and then i entered 0575724 it shows v 20 for this, i downloaded it but the size is 23 MB and not 133 MB as you have mentioned earlier. Just to check with you if i am missing something?

Hi Atal,

It's the NSU size you are talking about (23 MB). I was saying the download size of the v20 firmware is 133 MB.

First you will have to install the latest NSU (I guess now you probably have done that). Once NSU is installed, it will detect the phone and search the latest firmware available on nokia server (here it will show the v20 is available).

Then when you proceed it will download the firmware which is 133 MB.

And Yes, the europe site won't show the v20 availability for 0587487, but you have to download the latest NSU anyway. I hope you will get it then

I did the same and followed all the steps, but NSU at the end shows that the latest version available for your handset is V 12 and not v 20.  dont know what is wrong with 0587487. Any ways thanks again for your replies.

Sorry Bro.. seems some problem in the handset (as was mine). If you have spare time, you can take it to service center. they will definitely update it.

Don't forget to take phone backup. And take along your invoice (proof of purchase).

V 20 is available on NOKIA CARE CENTRES in india. i just updated to v 20 at nokia care in bangalore.So all of you can visit nearest nokia care center and update your handsets.
