Yesterday I've installed new version of firmware 31.101 v8 to my N79 and I make hard reset [“green button” + “3? + “*” +”power button"] . Now my nokia is faster, navi wheel still work awfully, but now you can hear "click" during touchin navi. Despite this everything is ok.

Any word on when my UK unbranded, SIM free N79, RM-348 0573853 will get any update past 11.049? :-(

Nokia Have released the Version 31.101 on NSU, Check it out

My 0573946 product code is still stuck to 11.049; thank you again Nokia...

landcruiser why are you wasting your time by searching on NSU or FOTO, Directly go to Nokia Care and get it updated to 30.XX free of cost.

For some product codes Nokia never release the update. The Only fix is taking the phone to Nokia Care to update the firmware.

i suggest you one thing dont wait, Please visit any Nokia Care and get the new update.

Those who are still in V 10, V 11 or V 20. Go to nokia to update your phone.

Some times no use of waiting, you will never get the update.

i just downloaded version 31.002.53.1 trough NSU. My location is Italy, my n79 is unbranded rm-348. phonebook bug solved.

So I got it using FOTA.

They made this update available in India unlike v30.

I am not sure what good it brings on board though yet. Let me explore.

Anybody got luck with the changelog?

mini is RM-348

the version I got is 31.002.53.1 & its date us 25 august 09.

i found out that 31.101 is Global version while 31.002 is the european version....

It is not like that exactly, I am from India and got V31.002 so its not limited to europe at least.

Please somebody tell us whats different about 31.002 and what bugs have been fixed in it as i think it will be the last fw available for N79

No not V 30, its not available in my country, I updated to V 31. There is nothing significant which I have observed till date. That means nothing exceptional which implied that in case in your region this update is available you should update your device because anyhow it will surly have improvements and internal bug fixes.
