On that firmware table, why are there 2 entrys for the RM-348? :

N79 RM-348 2009-05-11    20.175  

N79 RM-348 2009-07-06    30.019

I read that as firmware v30.019 was released 3 days ago yet i've just used Nokia Software Update and no update, i am in the UK.

there are two entries because that page details all firmware versions that were officially released for Nokia phones. the v20.175 firmware is old news as it was released a few months ago. note that the dates provided in the table are for the day the firmware was released through the NSU or FOTA channels, not the build date. yeh i feel your pain too buddy, it's interesting with the N78 too that it says that it's been released into the channels, yet it is not showing up on NSU or FOTA .

I had a feeling that's what it meant but i wanted to be 100% sure.

Either way i'm looking forward to this firmware update, if it ever decides to show up

I know there is a lot of negitive feelings about Nokia on this thread (a lot of my own) but i got to admit that firmware v20.175 brought nothing but improvement to my experience with the phone, i just hope v30 does the same thing!

Edit- This is just me snarking about asking for kudos as the only content of the post, nothing personal! At least v30 has got a date now. Fingers crossed, it'll arrive on T-Mobile before I upgrade my handset in a year's time.

I also found that Nokia N79 got a latest firmware 30.011 released. To check my phone's update capability I tried to check with product code, that was showing lates update 30.011 but strangely phone is showing as N95 8GB!!

I tried severel times & found the same. After buying that phone i have already updated in twice & current firware version is 20.175.

Any one have any idea?

The link to the automatically-generated list of firmware updates and their release dates gives a date for V30 of late last week. Obviously it's not actually here yet, but it's confirmation that it does exist, and that we weren't going crazy in thinking that Nokia had announced it at the wrong time (several weeks ago). Perhaps it's released to developers only at this stage.

i think its already been released to operators, because if you check the dates for the N85 which received 30.019 via FOTA last week, they align with the date provided on Forum Nokia. so the date given on Forum Nokia is the date the firmware is released into the FOTA/NSU channels, and isn't the build date of the firmware either. it should already be here by now lol, i can only think that there are some bugs that caused it to be withdrawn, or the release for the appropriate product codes is slow. although i'm sure we would have heard something by now if it had been released only for some product codes anyway.

I tried several programs for energy saver clock but none works! Two seconds and go......

The new firmware will resolve this bug? I bet not.

I dunno, shortly after the v20 update came out, people started getting noises from Nokia support which were more like "Oh, that doesn't work?" than "That's how it's meant to work". So I'd be surprised if it wasn't fixed up in v30, considering it's coming out so soon after the previous update.
