I have a Nokia E71 Running a software version 400.21.0.13 and Connected to OVI PC Suite version 3.0.0.284 installed on a Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit Platform.
On PC Suite I receive a note that there is one update available for my mobile and when I try to install that update. The process start to fail with a pop up saying that the update service is not responding and when clicking ok on that pop up I see an install button beside my phone model. Clicking on that, the update always fails with one of the following errors:
1- Something's gone wrong. Error code 12017 with instructions to restart/reinstall OVI suite which seems to be useless.
2- There is no SIM card which is obviously strange as my SIM card is working perfectly and changing the SIM card did not do any difference.
Please only respond to that post if you have a solution for the issue or if you are a Nokia support specialist.

I have something similar. My software is uptaded to latest version, as it says on vokia suite, but its running very slow. It get stuck all the time and when i try to reinstall it, this error 12017 appears and there is nothing else to do. Please, how can i reinstall my software or how can i solve this problem of slowlyness?
