I have Nokia 5800 with v2.0 version. Yesterday (1/29), I have found out that they have the lastest version of v4.0. I was so happy that finally I can upgrade. But, in the last stage of the installation, there is message of saying "Your phone got disconnected, would you like to restart or cancel?" I have choosen to cancel the installation due to I have to go out. After I have disconnected USB port and try to restart my phone. I CAN'T START MY PHONE! I took out the battery and put in and press the power on, and all I got is up to the "vibration" stage. Nothing comes out from my screen
I was so schock. I don't understand what happen. I have followed the instruction and still there is problem. I have called Nokia USA support center and they told me that they can't do anything because my phone was purchased outside of USA. They told me to take to my local phone repair place. So, I did take to my local phone repair place. They told me have to wait till Monday to check and see how to fix it.
Does anyone have the same problem? How does your phone get fixed? All I hope is that I want my phone be fixed and back to normal with new upgraded version. If anyone have same expriences and resolution, please tell me and help me out! Much appreciated!
Thank you![]()

Hi you need to do a hard reset, to make the device boot up again.
i:e 5800 = Press and hold RED + GREEN + CAMERA when powering up.
Keep the keys pressed until you get the shaking hands.
That should fully reset the device, with a lock code of 12345
If this doesnt work the you will need a nokia care center.
Good Luck![]()

Sorry to hear about all this dude .. but as for now your phone has just become a brick.
You should never interrupt the installation process once it has started.
Now what has happen to ur phone is that your firmware or operating system within the phone has been deleted and while it was trying to upload the newer one you interrupted the phone.
Your phone needs to be flashed from nokia care which i think would be absolutely free but you will need to go where ever they are located.
Dont worry your phone is alive
Just go and get the phone flashed so that it may have the operating system in it once again.
P.s. Next time do update but dont interrupt!

Hi J,
Thank you for your repsonse. Actually, I did try to do the reset botton. Maybe I did not press long enough. I just lost patience.
Right now, my phone is in the repair shop. Tomorrow, our Monday, I will find out if they can fix it or not.
So, all I have to do it to do a Master Reset? The 3 bottons reset to get my phone back to function?
Thank you for your tips
I will post again with the recent updates![]()

Hi agha_ali,
Thank you for your response. Well, I did not disconnect my installation on purpose. The PC just shows that my phone lost connect wheather to restart or cancel.
Right now my phone is in the repair shop. Tomorrow, our Monday, I will find out if they can fix it or not. If they can, that will be great. So, I don't have to send my phone all the way to Taiwan's Nokia care center.
Thank you for your tips
