True this problem with the alarm is really poor. I could easily have missed my flight this morning because the alram did not go off until I unlocked the phone using the lock code. Did this at around 07:19 and then my 06:30 alarm kicked into life! Now I have lost all trust in this piece of **bleep**.

Another issue with the Phone Lock feature is when using a mobilephone holder in a car. The lock kicks in at after the set time, fine, incoming calls awake the phone and these can be anwered from the large answer key on the screen (caller display is working as normal) THEN the phone prompts you for the lock code and while the call is up and you are driving - absolutely nuts!

PS. Can we have a driving profile where the lousdpeaker is used by default when calls are answered....

I have not tested this in detail but the problem seem to be with the repeating alarms. So my repeating alarms set for Sat and Sun did not go off until I unlocked the phone, and if I remember correctly it was my weekday alarm that I noticed the problem in the first place. However it seems that on-off alarms work OK. Strange...

I have bought 5800 about two weeks ago and I don't really know if my5800 is really new or what because it seems there is prevous version of v20.0.012 so i hope that seller didn't cheat me!!

After I have Updated to v21.0.025 problems are:

1- sound recorder:

It's was the most motive thing to buy it to record my lectures, and now i missing, them most of records stops after 20 mins or higher sometime after 6 or 11 minutes, I have talked to the customer care and they told me to make hard reset and it worked and recorded for 1 hour just for 1 time then the problem back i tried to format the 8GB memory but it keep the same even though i tried in different qualities standerd and high but also didn't work

should i go back to v20.0.12 and how to do OOR there is another solutions

I DON"T WANT EXTERNAL PRAGRAMS TO RECORD

2- accolometer or the screen

when i hold 5800 from my pocket verically and open menu quickly it's opening it horizantally

i hope you guys find for me solution as i said before the main goal from buying it for record

Hi

Surprisingly, my phone doesn't show any of those bugs, nevertheless the settings panel hangs up after using! Even if not directly opened, but using one of it's options, it becomes inaccessible. Only solution seems to be restarting the phone. It can't be closed through show open application, or through opening it and selecting exit.

No need to worry about the lock code after update FW with lockcode. After updation when phone will ask u to enter the code just enter as u write in alphabetic keypad..for eg: if the lock code is 12345 (press key '1' 2 times, for '2' press key '2' for 4 times that means a,b,c,2.. hope u understand my poor eng. another option is change the alphatic keypad to numeric (same as in message) long press ' # ' key or ' * ' key. if still u cant solve the prob just reply me i will upload the video..in youtube

It's much easier to give a long press on '#', which has the effect of switching the keypad into numerical mode. You then simply type in the digits of the lock code. RTFM.

I have a 5800 its only 3 weeks old and the dial and contacts has stopped working from the front screen. It did exactly the same on th new 5530 phone as well. It is something caused by software being installed. Possibly Fring or Nimbuss. I did only get this recently happening. I may also have installed a theme which caused this to happen.

However I got back front screen contacts and the dialler button to work by going into settings, personal, home- screen, home screen theme, then ONLY using and ticking Contacts Bar. The Shortcuts bar and Basic will not work at all on my 5800 only Contacts bar. It maybe also because I was showing this on my front page when I backed up my files. But now it will only let me have contacts and nothing else on my home screen. If I use anything else then my dialler or bottom contact button DOES NOT WORK.

Paid a visit to my local Nokia support shop in Stockton Heath Warrington. Said can only wait for an update if nokia do another one. If it goes altogether they can only Flash the phone for me they said. This isnt good enough come on Nokia get this BUG sorted soon please as I said it happens on th new 5530 dialler home screen too doesn't it???

Yes Short Cuts is deffinately a BUG. My dialler and contacts disappears so phone is rendered totally useless if it cannot dial a number. Help. I know that it does this on the 5530 also. Same Bug Nokia. Not tested it before manufacture. Will show Dialler and Contacts if home screen short cuts is set to contacts . Will not work if set to basic or shortcuts bar.

Hey there guys!

I have just gotten my 5800 and it had v21 from the factory, problem i found so far, when i record videos with the default saving set to memory card, it gives an error as soon as i start recording that says "Unable to access Memory card, phone memory will be used instead".... this is vefry frustrating, i have tried everything here, i have formatted the Mem card, renamed it, no luck.. i have seen one post regarding the same issue, but with no sollutions?

does anyone else have this issue?

Hello,

I once had a similar problem and i took the memory card out turned the phone off and back on. Then I reinserted the memory card. If the phone still won't recognize the memory card, try formatting the card with other device (a computer with a card reader or a camera). It seems like a memory card problem, and not a firmware related one.

Hey can someone please help me !!!

I recently updated version 31 on my 5800 XM and now when i use youtube in browser , the video gets stuck while the bar moves till end and time is also moving. I also upgraded to Flash lite 3.1 but it was useless, I even hard formatted the phone but my problem still exists.

Hope someone gives a reply...

I have the exact same problem. It just loses its function for some reason. I still get vibration feedback every time I hit the button, but that's it. Not cool.

Plz help me. I am using a nokia 5800 XM phone. I took some photos and videos of a function which is very important to me. After that I view it also. But the phone switched off because of low battery and when I switch on the phone again, i can't view the images and videos in the gallery as well as the file manager. I did't deleet it. There were about 50 or 60 images and 2 videos of about 3 minute duration. After the phone restarted i took only one photo and one video of 2 second duration. That files are still there. I don't know whether those precious files are still there or it got deleted. When I connected my phone into PC as mass storage and check the property of the folder, it showing as 64 images, but no files inside the folder expect those photos I took before. Please can anyone help me. I will be really greatful if anyone can give a solution
