What would you like to see improved?

1. Drastically Improved Image Viewer

2. Decreased Lag within the phone

3. Stabilized firmware - well tested, not another eff up

4. Improved Camera

5. Complete Facebook Integration

6. Ability to change song by holding down the Volume Up/Down buttons to go Back/Forward through the music list.

7. Push Support for at least GMail (Gmail because we can assign other email addresses to forward email to GMail) 

8. Improved Music Player Interface

9. Elastic Scrolling - (Note: I am using a euphemism for something Non-Nokia TouchPhone users already have)

Minor

10. A better dictionary

11.Fixed all minor bugs (messaging and battery icon, changing color etc)

12. More Officially Official fully integrated themes

13. Improved speakersound (If at all possible)

14. Enhanced Virus Protection

15. Widgets (why does the N97 have widgets and not the Tube???

16. Ability to fiddle around with the Green, White and Red lights - like if I wanted them to glow in different orders.

Nokia wants to listen to the end-user, the customer, then it should thoroughly go through this list and the ensuing list that other users may post. Nokia is known for its famous firmware updates and I sicerely believe that Nokia can do all of the above and more with its innovative team. I hope Nokia does not renege on its promises.

Please add more requests - doable requests and please do NOT double post as that only makes going through the thread harder. Thanks.

1. IN what sense? I had a 5800 on test and I saw o need for "drastic" improvement.

5. That would depend on agreement with Facebook.

6. Unlikely. It wouldn't be a volume key then, would it? People would be saying "we need an update to make the volume control work properly".

7. S60 phones do support push e-mail, what is needed is a push service that is compatible with the phone - Nokia can affect this by making a compatible version of Nokia Messaging, it is not the phone software per se that is at fault.

12. There are always plenty available for download, there is no profit in producing loads for one device.

14. Why? Not needed. There are very few viruses for S60, you have less chance of getting such viruses on your phone than of you have of catching venereal disease from Jessica Alba, and (unlike a PC) a virus cannot get into your phone without you agreeing it so as long as you are careful about what you allow to be transmitted to your phone you have little to worry about.

15. It probably doesn't have them becuase it's a budget device, not a high-end N-series device like the N97. As touch phones become more common, they will have spec differences just like any other.

16. Eh? These keys are colour-coded for specific purposes (green = call, red = end call, like all Nokias) and the lights are hardware not software so an update wouldn't change this.

Yes i too want almost the same thing...i havnt updated yet to v20.x.x because of the problems people are facingi have read about that in this forumonly...

Instead iwould suggest fix the current problem before adding new feature...

I want one more feature which is improvement in marking multiple msg,songs may like after marking first msg we can click and hold for sometime to mark nest item....also i want adding multiple songs in the playlist at one time i am fedup adding songs in my playlist one by one....

1. well it takes a while for the image to turn from portrait to landscape and vice versa. it also takes a while to change image; to be blunt - I'd like it to be as smooth as the iphone's image viewer!

6. Maybe I should have elaborated: I had a SE w810i before, when I used to press and hold the volume key then it would change the song. So the function of the volume button would stay and we would be able to change songs as well.

Holding the volume button = changing the song. Pressing the volume button = Volume change

12. But official themes ones are the best! I would just like 2-3 themes -thats all.

 15. I don't think that a device needs to be high-end to have good software (I believe widgets are software, right?) and especially if the device is as popular as the nokia 5800.

16.  Elaboration: The white light glows when I have a notification right? what if we could customize that or nokia do it for us! like if we have email then the green and red light glow simultaneously. if we have a text message then the white light glows. if we have missed calls then the red light glows. get my drift?

i would like to see support for nokia messaging, and all the other apps that dont support the nokia 5800.

i would like to see a more advanced homescreen, with notifications like u get on most of the other phones.

faster response even with theme effects on, no lag, faster image processing and a more responsive touch screen.

more themes and a more eye candy design for the qwerty keyboard, alphabets on the dialer, improved battery life and more options for contacts view and a more eye candy interface. and if possible threaded messages

add nokia internet radio to the list of apps! i think they can improve battery life by better coding the firmware so it consumes less energy.

download the energy profiler to see which app eats the most energy!

Nothing in that thread points to that issue being a virus. A virus is malicious code sent to a system. What you have is a software bug.

get the application 'the pencil' - doesnt work everywhere but it does help out a bit......hope this helps

Color changing bug is a major problem for me. I wish Nokia to fix it once and forever. And please increase loudness in phone speaker, I am sure it's an easy fix. 

Application like PhoneTorch can be  very useful. If it came from Nokia I will be sure that it is safe to use.

1)Now this is a music phone right?, so why not let the user who is listening to a song on random,click a button and play the rest of the album that the song that is playing belongs to. This would be an easy update to your software, come on Nokia what are you playing at with this one. Many people must also want this feature.

2)Customisable profiles, I want a profile to start at say 9am and change back at say 5pm, every day - this would be a nice addition to all s60 handsets.

3) WIDGETS - this has been mentioned, users should be able to add widgets to their main screen, facebook, my space etc.

2. Threaded SMS. Seriously why is this not on here yet? This has been in the beta labs for s60 v3 for some time. Does Nokia really need a crack team of scientists to figure this one out?

3. An rss reader widget for the homescreen. This was awesome on the N810. I used it constantly on that, but don't use it at all on my N95 since it doesn't automatically update and scroll across the homescreen.

4. More shortcuts on the homescreen! 4 is not enough! 

Seriously, if they don't get their act together by this summer, there's going to be no reason to own the 5800 over the iPhone.

Well after I heard that the camera quality should be improved in the next update and improvements of stability and speed is alwas welcome, my wishes are as follows:

1. Please add a resume-function to the audioplayer. For all the listeners of audiobooks out there, this would be great.

2. And speaking of the audioplayer, I'll add one of the oldest killer features when it comes to audioplayers: Please add a folder play feature. Not everybody likes to build playlist... 

3. It would look much better, if the start screen would also be able to rotate as all the other menus.

4. Keep up the good work!

For texting purposes, the most recently used addresses should come up and not just the alphabetical list. Saves having to pick the name out again. Handy if you're like me and tend to text only certain people.
