cheba,
did you use Nokia OVI Suite to update the phone?

Checked from phone 1st with both voda sim and o2 sim and got same msg "no updates available". Then used NSU and got the same.

@cheba - it has nothing to do with your simcard. The reasons for the phone not having the update yet are:
1. Branded phone - phones provided by a network have product codes which are identified as branded to that network. This holds true even if you unlock the phone for use on other networks. You can only get the update if the network to which your phone is branded approves it and finishes customizing it to their purposes.
2. It is a country variant phone. Your local telecommunications bureau has a say in the firmware release.

Also factor in that the product codes on the phones are updated at different times (As i was told yesterday), when I created a similar topic as I have the same phone/

Sorry don't get it. Mine has a product code 0559346 which is on the list, what else should I look at to find out if it's doable for me please?

Check with your productcode here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/

1st thing I did was check this link which says V40 but NSU says "current V31 and update V31 reinstall?"

i think kinetic scrolling is partially done. it dosen't work on main menu, in apps menu etc. i have so many apps installed on my phone and i still need to scrooll on old fashioned way, thats sucks. i think nokia should work on that too.

I have updated the new software for Nokia 5800 Express Music.
After update I am facing the following problems.
1. WiFI will connect but cannot browse internet or connect ovi maps etc with it.
2. Music player gets stuck when I try to skip one song after it started playing.
3. Touch screen do not work when Alarm is ringing and the alarm cannot be stopped.
Please help.

Hi again guys
Is there a way to make sure if the product code under the battery is correct/real? Could it be just a "sticker" and that's why it's not accepting the update? Dounloaded the latest maps and tried navigation but no voice.... Should redounload in case it was corrupted for some reason but feel life isn't getting any easier with this phone!!! Nokia retail point in guildford can't offer any help ( if they didn't know that 5800 is elligible for free satNav!!)

Downloading the maps application is just that, the maps application. The voice files and the maps itself are separate, downloadable through Maps Loader or Ovi Suite on your PC.

Thanks.. I had download it from mobile over wi-fi and installed english uk with streets. Tried it in guildford but there was no voice and no map information outside guildford twoncentre ( Univ of surrey area not there). This is a bit all new to me too and am not sure if am doing stuff the right way but am following the instructions! Now reintalled using nokia pc suite it looks just the same, is there a way to test it indoors offline plz or to know it's all there? thx again.
