No "symbian Anna" update available

hello fellow Anna hunters.
Does anyone know where I stand with the elusive but hopefully lovely Anna ? I have a N8 silver, and I'm in the UK on the Orange network. I have tried the OTA method but i just get a "No update available" message. I gather from what I've read on the net that OTA won't be available in the UK. So I've tried downloading the latest OVI suite to access Anna from there, but "no update available" is all I get. Anyone know the score?

it doesn't matter where the device was manufactured. updates vary by product code and network operator.

just keep checking, you might get it in the next few weeks. :smileyhappy:

the device might have been assembled in Finland, but it may be for sale for Europe, Asia or even USA.

all you have to do is wait. :smileyhappy:

Re: No "symbian Anna" update available

I had the same problem and I'm on Orange. There was no update via OVI suite. So I downloaded the Nokia Software Updater from Nokia Beta Labs, and lo and behold, it found the update.

I still don't have any notifications regarding the Quick Office, and Adobe updates, but I'll be patient :smileyhappy:

I'm  in the same boat but my friend (also on orange with an N8) has had everything... Main large update and both parts of the Symbian Anna

Only difference is that he updated using Ovi Suite

Hi herbatov, can you give me your product code? May be, I can sort out something for you. Just "call" *#0000# for your product code.

Same here, maybe they have decided that because we got a trial phone we are somehow not worthy of getting this update at the same time as everyone else...

Re: No "symbian Anna" update available

My take on the fact that we were having it as a trial was so that we would get software earlier and let them know of any bugs. surely it would be common sense to do this

Re: No "symbian Anna" update available

Nokia have said there is a problem with some of the product codes in the current wave, 0598980 amongst them.  They're working on a fix, but they don't have an ETA for the Anna availability yet.

It's immensely frustrating and almost entirely caused by their insistance on using different product codes for irrelevant differences (eg colour).  They really, truly need to join the rest of us in the 21st century.

Re: No "symbian Anna" update available

:smileyvery-happy: Anna turned up here wearing a little off the shoulder number, the dirty little fox!.

Ha ha, In all seriousness it has improved my phone's appearance. Very smooth. All symbian need now is for the big firms to develop their apps for Anna and they'll be up there with the big boys.

And therin lies the problem

Everyone and his dog knows there is an issue

But nokia have failed to communicate that they are even aware of the issue on these forums,

let alone provide details on who they think is affected and how long they estimate to rectify

The lack of anna is annoying

the lack of communication is unforgivable
