We upgraded my ex-N95 8GB (I sold it to my friend) and I can say that this is a good firmware. The performance is good, no freezes., etc. If "hacking" is not an issue for you, I would say go for it, you won't regret.

Hi,
updated to 31.0.015 yesterday and I had hoped Nokia finally upgraded th N95 8GB to a half decent multimedia player by refining the volume slider. But no. Still 10% steps from mute to max. This is getting pretty lame.
Greetings,

I've upgraded this morning, everything works good. The only difference I've noticed is that a startup of the phone goes a little bit faster (after handshake animation and before you can use the phone there's no picture rendering by parts, it goes once and fully). I hope there are more improvement that I didnt noticed
Updated to FW v31.0.015 short whiles a go. I didn’t notice any differences. As “gennady” said phone little bit faster than before.

i think this might be the last update for the phone...?
cant see much difference only that the c drive has not as much space left, only 75mb instead of 102 with the previous ones.
People who say it seems faster well it probably always will as you have just put a fresh install on it...

No, the case isnt just in fresh install. The day before upgraded to v31 I did a reset of v30 so can objectively compare.
And about free space on C: - have you noticed that v30 is 112 Mb when you download it and v31 is 135 Mb?

Guys, some of us "do know little bit of phones", not all of us are ignorant. So, when we say that the new firmware seems like it is faster, we are comparing it with the time, when we freshly upgraded the previous firmware or at the time when we purchased the phone from the store. This means we are comparing the firmwares without any extra data or software in it.
This happens when you call the technical service 1-800 numbers for a device in US. Let's say your computer does not start and you tell this to the technician in India who can't even speak properly English, and they ask you "Sir, did you press the power button on device? Did you plug in the power cord?"
They treat you like you are an idiot.

Is that’s mean you are requesting a change log of new FW from Nokia? (My first language isn’t English)![]()
I think that is good idea. Because we don’t have to investigate what are the effects by the new FW. And also we can decide to whither update or not to our phones if that is a minor update.
First place why Nokia doesn’t provide a change log of new FW instead of providing a bigger number every time? (some times we are able to gat a change log from other sources like symbian-freak.com)![]()

I upgraded today and I've got same problem: no signal! My phone is useless now - what should i do? Is Nokia going to release some patch which will repair that? I thought Nokia is testing every firmware before It's released on NSU, and I am really disappointed now... Some methods to solve the problem? Maybe upgrading again?
edit. I tried to choose network manually. My network was found, but when i tried to connact, it says "brak dostepu" ("no access". What to do?
