hi there, have you tried Nokia Lifeblog? it copies everything from your phone. from messages to images to recordings. you dont have to back it up on your MM. and it has the option to filter which of those copied will be deleted from your phone. you can copy it back to your phone if you want to. i tihnk its the best way to archive your files. i've been using it since N93.

anyways, i'm still skeptic about the v31 firmware. im quite satisfied at v30. maybe I'll read more about it before deciding.:smileyhappy:

Re: New 31.0.015 firmware for N95 8Gb RM-320

Hi,

I have a question regarding the size of the phonememory of the N95 8GB after the update. It has been mentioned that the phonememory has suddenly 15mb less memory. Thats also the case for my n95 8gb after the update to 31.0. Is there a way to get the full memory capacity back? Did this happen to all of you? I think it sucks!

Let me know,

SC

Re: New 31.0.015 firmware for N95 8Gb RM-320

The fact remains that everytime Nokia releases a new software, issues will also be introduced. Can't say that they've tested it nefore releasing or simply release a software with a minor drawback.

I used to upgrade my Nokia N95 8GB up until to version v30.0.018 which everytime I upgraded, I put myself and my phone in harms way. Needless to say that we want the best software installed on the phone which, in a way incorporates new features, but not.

I however, implemented a new strategy. Before I upgrade, I read the reviews from the Discussion or Forums on the so-called latest software topic and from there decide on whether I should upgrade or not.

Does Nokia listen? Yes they do. How so? I don't know.

We as users, have to realize that it is all about business. Making money. There can never be a phone without hiccups. If there are, how can the company generate income if not from our burnt pockets, or wallets.

So.. Before upgrading the software, read the reviews. And there's also a saying, "if it ain't broken. why fix it"..

Re: New 31.0.015 firmware for N95 8Gb RM-320

Purchased my rm-320(N95 8gb) around 2 years ago on a contract.. contract is now over and while phone is still locked to the original network i purchased a 'universal sim' so im able to use my prepaid sim from a different carrier. No worries there at all...untill I upgrade the FW.. now running 31.0.001 had my prepaid sim in when I updated as required.. update completes.. no signal.. ok odd so I tried a friends sim in my phone and my sim in theirs... both work.. admitadly both are on the same prepaid network.. so to be 100% sure.. i put my prepaid internet sim in..(different carrier again) works to. signal straight away..

I considered what possibilitys could be and decided to reinstall 31.0.001 with the internet sim in the N95 instead of my mobile prepaid(which was not being reconized) guess what.. same thing.. wont get reception.

I can manually search for service providers.. but when trying to connect.. get the error as others have got.. yet every other sim I have tried in it since.. works no worries.. signal straight away.. make calls, send texts.. nothin wrong! My N95 HATES MY SIM! and ONLY MY SIM!

So nokia.. What are YOU going to do about this issue!? you have alot of unhappy customers world wide.. Step up to the plate and support your cstomers. give us a FW that WORKS or give us the option of downgrading to a working f/w at no cost to us. its not our stuff up, why should WE have to pay!?

I use my phone for buisness.. being that Nokia supplied the F/W and suggested the upgrade, I believe they should be responisble for any lost buisness arising from the down time currently being suffered.-my 0.02..

I can get ALL tests on video if required to back up the above claims. While I dont feel this is neccessary, maybe its what Nokia needs to rectify the issue!? - no one else seems to have offered
