I managed to update to 10.5! Yeah!
Here is a short list of changes I noticed:
- the system runs faster
- the Search Tab on the Start Screen has been changed to a "Windows Live Messenger" link
- Ovi Store Link in the main menu
What hasn't changed:
- the screensaver is still useless
Now decide for yourself if it's worth the trouble updating your phone!

I have just bought a Nokia 6700 classic and have followed all the steps to update it. It worked by my OVI client only could find updates up to 7.90. It did update fine but the OVI client didn't find any 10.50 update?
Any idea on what to do guys?

Yes, my idea is to get rid of this phone and buy another one.
It looks like problems are not being solved and new problems keep coming and it l;ooks like Nokia is not really doing something about it.

For those not able to upgrade to v13.1, either because Ovi said 10.5 is the latest version or your 6700 died after trying to update over the air, it seems some progress on this has been made!
I ordered a 6700 classic on Vodafone through my Vodafone Platinum business provider, but stipulated it must be running v13.1. They came back saying Nokia wouldn't authorise this on the batch of phones they had.
So, as my girlfriend's Sony Ericsson was failing, I took a 6700 classic running v10.5. When I received it, I knew not to attempt the upgrade over the air, so just before handing the phone to her, I plugged it into my Ovi suite and ran the update checker - and v13.1 was available!
Some progress indeed. So, it might not work for all networks, but certainly for a 6700 classic from Vodafone, it seems this can be upgraded to the latest version - OK not over the air, at least I don't think so, I am certainly not going to try that again but there is a solution for some nonetheless using Ovi and being on the right network - its a network/country lottery it would seem.
Perhaps Nokia or someone who has recently used the phone's built-in update method can confirm or deny this method working?
