NSU Is Rubbish!

[ Edited ]
Trying to update my n73 via NSU on WinXP SP2. I have all the admin rights and my firewall is disabled with the 2 NSU components in the exceptions list anyway... I connect my phone, NSU recoginses it then as it starts searching for updates, I get an error message saying 'Network Connection lost, check firewall' or some such nonsense.. There's nothing wrong with my net connection, I have no firewalls apart from windows firewall, which is disabled like i said and i've looked round this 'forum' for any help and tried anything i could find of any use. None of which has worked.. I've also tried hooking a different phone to NSU to see if it still gave me the same error... And it did, surprise surprise. Nokia, stick to making phones and leave the PC applications/BLOATWARE to more competant programmers.. I am very irate with Nokia for many reasons right now, this is just the icing on the cake! If anyone has a solution to my prob, i'd be very grateful (it's probably something really obvious that i've overlooked lol)

Hi,
not to be angry!
uninstall your NSU and all usb drivers.
download the latest available NSU(i think its 1.4.39).
disable your windows firewall and antyviruse program.
connect your phone with compatible cable in general profile mode.
run NSU progam.
be attention you need meduim pc requirements:
1GHz, or higher, Pentium-compatible processor.
At least 256 MB of RAM (memory).
Windows 2000 (SP4 or later) or Windows XP (SP1 or SP2).
Administrator rights to install.
and
"High-speed internet connection".
if you have this problem try via another pc or laptop.
i hope to solve your problem.

Re: NSU Is Rubbish!

Honestly.. U must not be able to read.... U get NO OPTION to use an earlier version of NSU as i am forced to update. I have the admin rights.. In fact, just read what i wrote in my original message. Oh, and i have every right to be angry, I've paid a lot of money for these phones and they're MINE despite what Nokia say. I said in my original post that this was only the tip of the iceberg in my annoyances with Nokia, they're about to lose a very good customer and they dont seem to care!

PS. Please do not take my rants as something personal. I'm a straight talking person and if i seem blunt, thats because it's the only way i get results!

Thanx, i'm a happy person really!

Re: NSU Is Rubbish!

just one question, have u tried using the NSU on a different PC?

To me, if ur having an issue with 2 different phones with one application on one PC, it would suggest to me that its a PC/router/network issue rather than the NSU itself

but if u did try the NSU on a different PC before coming here to complain about it, then i stand corrected
if my post helped u out, please click the Star next to it to add some KUDOS to my name :smileyvery-happy:
