Thanks for the update.  When v40 was released for RM-428, there was a delay of about 6 weeks between the release for the 5800 Navigation Edition and the plain-Jane 5800.  That puts the release for 0577454 around end of June 2010.  Let's see if Nokia have improved their processes to make it a bit faster!

I have the same phone type:

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Type RM-428

Product Code: 0577454

But, today (Sept 1st 2010) the "Can I update my Nokia device software?" page says that the "Latest available software for your device" is Version::  31.2.101

What's happening? Why version numbers are going backwards? (My phone actually has the fw version 40.2.005)

same here.. nokia for a change has dropped the ball.. no new f/w for our 428 in the u.s. and i doubt there ever will be..

no more nokia phones for me.

Firmware 51.2.007 for 0577454 RM-428 is officially available, but for technical reasons I am unable to download it from Nokia's servers...

What "technical reasons" are you running into?  If you can't download FOTA, try using NSU, or vice versa.  I've been using v51 since it's been made available (using NSU, btw).
