I got half way through via Ovi Suite and when the phone went to restart, it did not come back on. I have followed the instructions in the "My device "died" during an update. What should I do?" thread, but no luck. In that thread it says Press and hold the following device keys: 3, 'phone symbol' and * , but on the N97 there is no key for 'phone symbol', as its on the flat screen face so I can not use this method. What should I do please, as my phone is now dead when before updating it was 100% healthy. Thanks in desperation.

I've told many people!!! DON'T use the ovi suite for your upgrade and yet people still do that sh*t!!! I know some many people that did that and somehow it messed up in the process, use NSU!!! I've always used that and never had a problem... Look at this picture, it should work, that's the only hope you have:

hold those three buttons and the power button so its four not 3.

dead? cant be revived with the 3-key combo?
is your phone still under warranty? visit nokia service center since updating/failing to update thru pc does not void warranty.

I only started the contract in October, so I am going to go in there today and get it sent off for repair.

Yes I have tried that and it doesn't start charging. You know that notification noise a PC makes when you connects a USB device? Well it makes that noise every minute or so as if to say that it is trying to connect, but it's not working. The most I ever get out of the phone is a little start up vibration, but then nothing else.

Thanks, I'm in the city today so I may drop in and see Nokia. If anyone would know, they would. I'd rather avoid the contract provider as they don't seem to be particularly on the ball.
Thanks for the suggestions.
